The sound of her mobile phone ringing jarred Alexandra awake. Had she fallen asleep? She vaguely heard Travis stir from his sleep as the phone continued to sound off.
Alexandra sat up, looked down and realized that she and Travis were still holding hands. She felt her stomach do a little flip but she hastily slipped out of his grasp and grabbed her phone from her pocket.
“Oh, thank goodness!"
Alex closed her eyes and groaned out loud as she heard her mother’s voice. She forgot to tell her parents that she was going to catch a ride home from Travis. She also did not think of texting them that they were going to the beach for a short while.
