I FELL IN LOVE ON THE JOB

Anna could tell Felicity was disturbed, the sudden tension between them was alarming. Anna could tell by the way Felicity's eyes fidgeted, her legs shaking uncontrollably, the way her fingers tapped the steering wheel severally, her on and off sighs and irritated hiss.

" Are you that mad at me? " Anna had to ask.

" Huh? " Felicity missed what she said.

" Fer? "

" I'm sorry what? "

Anna took a deep breath, " I didn't mean to react that way but I couldn't stand by and watch Stephanie badmouthing Leah. "

" Are you apologizing for hitting that b***h? "

" Wait, you're not mad? "

" Of course not, if you hadn't reacted I would've. "

Anna was relieved, " Then, why are you moody? "

Felicity had to fake a smile, " I'm not moody... why would you think that? "

Anna could see through her, " You're not gonna tell me? "

" Really? " Felicity proved difficult.

Anna smiled, " It's okay, I'm not gonna force you to talk. "

Felicity slowly nodded her head, she wasn't planning on talking.

" So, do you think the director came to Jacksonville head because of Sarah? " Anna asked.

Felicity flinched, her breathing slightly spiked, " Why would you say that? "

" I mean, why would he come all the way here? the same day he announces a new executive chef? "

Felicity chuckled, " It's Jacksonville head, "

" I know but I think... " Anna pauses.

" Think what? " Felicity was eager to find out.

" He likes her, or they're in a relationship. "

Felicity laughed, " That's absurd, "

" Maybe. "

Felicity came to a stop, " Hey, " She called to Anna, " You did good today. "

Anna smiled sheepishly, " Goodnight Fer. "

" Night. "

Anna could tell something was off with Felicity, " Hey, we're in good hands, I can tell she's a nice person. "

" Sarah? "

" Yeah, she's a friend of Leah's. We can trust her right? "

Felicity sighed, " I hope so. "

Jimmy was fortunate to have spotted Felicity's car, he quickly hid himself to avoid being seen. He knew the scene it would cause if Felicity had seen him. He saw Anna come down and walk towards the house. He knew what he was doing was wrong and unfair to her but he couldn't stop, he didn't want to stop. He strayed away from her but somehow he kept coming back. He wanted to stay but he was not prepared to. He was only sure of the moment right now, he wanted her.

Anna walked briskly as the night cold made goosebumps appear on her skin. Thoughts of what went down today still haunted her and she felt terrible, she didn't want to get violent with Stephanie or anyone else, especially because of Leah. She had tried to put the past behind her but as it kept shoving itself at her face, it was going to be difficult. Leah didn't deserve whatever happened and was still happening, she couldn't do anything to help Leah back when she was alive, she couldn't help save her life and that of her precious baby. Anna felt sick to her stomach as she thought about the gory details of Leah's last moments, the pain, distress, and fear in her eyes. Anna shook her head in an attempt to erase that memory.

" Anna, "

Anna heard a familiar voice call her name. It was him, she saw him surface from behind the bushes as he came closer to her. His eyes shaking, his hands awkwardly stuck in his pockets. Cold smoke came out of his mouth as he called her name once more. She suddenly felt weak in the knees, she should run, she should leave right now but she couldn't. She didn't want to, her heart fought with her head, and she succumbed. Her feet were firmly planted on the ground, hindering her from refusing, she didn't want to anyway.

He was right in front of her now, Anna stared at him with tears dropping from her eyes, why was he here now? before she could ask him, Jimmy pulled her in for a deep kiss.
