Sarah wanted to scream, but Derrick caught her mouth just in time. " Shhh! "

" Who... who are you? " Sarah wanted to know.

Derrick untied her, " Now tell me where's Leah? "

Sarah could sense his determination to find Leah, could it be that he didn't know of her demise? and what would become of her if she told this man that Leah is dead?

" Speak! speak! " Derrick was frustrated already as he buried his face in his hands, he could feel his head spinning already, the pain was finally kicking in.

" Leah... she, Leah is traveled. " Sarah spotted her grammatical error way too late.

" Huh? "

" She traveled! "

Derrick shook his head as he knelt beside her grabbing her by the shoulder as he gently shook her, " You're a terrible liar miss Sarah Rhodes. "

Sarah closed her eyes as she was awfully close to him, she felt her heart race fast as he knelt before her, it appeared like he was about to hit her forcefully considering his height and body mass.

" How... how do you know that? you don't even know who Leah is. " Sarah stuttered.

" You think? " Derrick asked as he drew even closer to her.

Sarah gagged, he stank terribly. How could he be so close to her when he smelt like he was buried alongside rusted metals and leftover unidentified debris? coupled with his sweat. Sarah couldn't help it as she quickly shielded her nose to save herself.

Derrick sniffed himself, he was appalled at his stench. Nobody deserved to deal with that, not even her. He pulled back, staggering away from her in shame. " Tell me the truth, the truth now. "

Sarah sighed, " How can you not know that Leah is already dead? "

Jimmy had briefly left the house for a stroll, he hated the fact that he was back here, and he wanted to leave immediately. He knew that it would be almost impossible for him to leave this time around, his father was determined to make him stay.

He had made his decision to stay away from anything relating to his family business when he saw how terribly his mother suffered as a result of his father's nonchalant behaviors and chronic cheating. Not to talk of the immense drama that the Gu family tend to cause.

He still vividly remembered when he accidentally stumbled on his parent's intense conversation that still stuck with him. His mother had found out about his father's secret affair, and not only that, he had born children with his mistress. Like any other woman his mother was upset and angry about it, she was hoping for an apology and an explanation but knowing his father she didn't get any. The argument quickly escalated his father confessed that he was in love with his mistress and was seeking to get a divorce.

His mother would not have it, refusing to agree to the divorce and asking his father to reconsider but he was adamant. When it looked like she couldn't convince him any longer she asked about the inheritance and to his greatest surprise, his father was willing to share them with all of his children ( including his mistress's ).

He had never seen his mother look so angry and defeated, Jimmy felt terrible. He soon prepped for his parents separating soon, but after a while, he didn't hear of the divorce or about the supposed mistress and children. But he had long ago decided to stay away, that was until he met her. He didn't want anything to tie him back here, not even her, but he couldn't help himself at times. Now that he was here, he wanted to see her.

Jimmy had waited patiently in his car until Anna woods had closed for the day, honking his car at her, he got her attention. Anna froze in shock as she saw Jimmy waving at her with a smile on his face, why on earth had Jimmy Guvin come back into her life? just when she had tried to move on without him? She didn't know how to react, she just stood there staring at Jimmy with her shaking hands, holding onto her bag. S

he shouldn't be happy to see Jimmy, after what he has done to her, she should hate him by now but she didn't. She was falling in love with him all over again.

Jimmy abandoned her, after what they shared, he left her without saying goodbye. She had met Jimmy one evening at the restaurant when he came to grab some food. It was like love at first sight, for her at least. Jimmy wasted no time in talking to her, he had shown her the recipe for fried eggs that same evening, and she fell for him even more. He was sweet, chatty, and a great cook.

He had tried to sway and convince her to go with him and like a fool, she fell for it. She had no idea he was a Guvin until she slept with him, they had gotten drunk and confessed insipid feelings for each other. Anna was already crazy for him until he disappeared. She hated herself so much that she couldn't look at herself.

He had promised to call her back the next day, he promised to stop by the restaurant. Anna believed him, it was his family's restaurant after all. But after days of waiting and Jimmy never called, texted, or showed up at the restaurant, it dawned on her.

He had left her without even saying goodbye, without telling her why. Was she that terrible in bed that she didn't deserve an explanation from him?

Jimmy walked over to Anna who was visibly still in shock.

" Hi, " He replied with his hands shoved in his pockets to hide his tension and fear.

Anna had tried to hold in the tears but as she saw him standing close to her, she had to let the tears roll.

" How to have... " Jimmy paused as she saw Anna cry, he felt a hint of guilt. He shouldn't have come to see her.

Anna couldn't handle it any longer, spending any more minutes with him might make her forgive him easily, she didn't want that.

Luckily for her, she saw Felicity, her coworker enter her car, Anna rushed over to her for a tight hug as she cried on her shoulders.

Felicity was shocked, " Anna? are you okay? "

Jimmy ran towards them, " Anna, please hear me out? "

Felicity couldn't get a reply from Anna so she put two and two together to figure things out.

" Anna, is he bothering you? " She turned over to him, " Are you bothering her? "

" Anna let's just talk alright?? "

Anna sniffed, " Fer can you give me a ride home? "

" Of course, get in. " Felicity opened the door for Anna and guided her in.

" Anna__

" You stay away from her. " Felicity warned him as she got into the car and started it.

" I'll call you tomorrow, let's talk! " Jimmy yelled as the car drove off.

Derrick felt dizzy, his headache increasing by the second but he needed to get to the bottom of whatever was happening.

" Dea... dead? " He couldn't believe what he heard.

" How can you not know she's dead? "

" f**k, " Derrick staggered backwards and had his hands in his hair, " No, no, no, "

Sarah suspected that he might not have anything to do with Leah's death as he too looked dazed.

Derrick turned to her, " When did this happen? "

" A week ago. "

' No wonder i haven't been able to reach her. " He whispered.

" what happened to her? " His voice fell, " How did she die? "

" Bombing... " Sarah felt the impact of the words, " Her car was bombed. "

" Jesus Christ " Derrick went static.

They both paused, awkwardly staring at each other. Derrick cleared his throat, he felt himself losing consciousness.

" Who are you to Leah? what's your business here?"

Sarah was getting annoyed by his weird questions, " Are you kidding me? is this a joke? "

Derrick took a few steps close to her, " Do I look like I'm joking? "

Sarah perceived his smell once more, " You stink! stay back! "

Derrick froze, his facial expression suddenly regretful. " Sorry, " He whispered.

" I... I am asking the questions now. " Sarah tried to sound tough.

Derrick was one step closer to hanging himself out of frustration, " Miss__

" Who are you? and how did you get here? "

" I'm not answering anything until you answer me. " He grunted.

Sarah gasped, " I've answered enough already! "

" I will tell you when it's enough! "

What Derrick felt next was an extremely painful pain in his head, he'd hope to have bared it a while longer but he could anymore. He fell to the ground, instantly unconscious.
