Sarah paused in front of the exit, her hand on the doorknob. She wanted to move but for some reason, her feet were firmly planted on the ground and refused to move. She was stalling, she shouldn't be here at this time, she should be on her way to work, it was her first day. She was afraid, afraid of what to expect and what to give. Taking to heart her first experience at Gu restaurant, she had reasons to be concerned. She was able to get on the wrong foot with almost everyone there without doing anything and it worried her. While she stood contemplating her next form of action, she saw Derrick approaching her. She noticed he was bare-chested, putting on a skirt. Sarah didn't know when she burst into a peal of loud laughter. Derrick sighed, " What? " " You... " Sarah tried to catch her breath, " The ski__ Derrick was slightly embarrassed, " You said wear anything okay? unless you want me to walk around naked. " Sarah was still laughing. Derrick was briefly mesmerized, this was the first time he'd seen her smile. A few minutes ago he'd been watching her freeze, she was thinking again. He was glad he was able to make her smile. " I'm sorry, you look funny, that's all. " Sarah replied. Derrick sighed, " Yeah right, so... " He adjusted the waistline of the skirt which triggered another laugh from Sarah, " Okay, that's enough or I'll strip. " Sarah paused, " Please don't, I'm still traumatized. " Derrick chuckled, " Common... " " I got the first aid yesterday... for your head. " " Oh, " Derrick touched his head where he had the injury, " It's uh... it's fine. " " No, it's not, you didn't go to the hospital so please... " Derrick didn't want her to worry about him, he saw the change in her tone and he didn't like how sad it sounded, " I will, thanks. " Sarah cleared her throat, she knew it was time for her to leave but she couldn't leave yet. Derrick saw through her, " You okay? " " Ah, I'm fine Derrick... " " Why are you stalling? you've been standing in that same position for quite some time. " " You've been watching me? " Sarah was surprised. " It's not like I have anything better to do. " " Really? what about trying to regain your memory? " Sarah wasn't aware that she sounded rude. Derrick immediately regretted butting into Sarah's life, he should have just minded his business and as she said tried to regain his lost memories. " we need to talk. " " We will, maybe after work. " ***** there was a Knock at the door. Derrick instantly paused, throwing a shocked glance at Sarah who reciprocated it. " Who is it? " Derrick whispered making hand gestures. " I have no idea, hide. " Sarah whispered back. Derrick groaned as he launched himself inside the kitchen not too far so he could eavesdrop. Sarah took a glance from the peephole to see what appeared to be a black-haired woman, she couldn't tell how she looked because she was facing the opposite direction. Sarah took one final glance around the house to make sure Derrick was properly hidden before she opened the door. The woman turned over to her, " Hello Sarah Rhodes. " Sarah was shocked, she hadn't seen this woman before and she knew her name. Sarah carefully scrutinized the woman and she was elegant, she appeared rich. The woman was dressed in a long vintage white gown which looked like something Marilyn Monroe would wear. Her red Gucci bag matching with her shoe screamed high class and a lot of money. Sarah could see through all the make-up and possibly facial surgery that the woman was probably in her late fifties or early sixties. " You are Sarah Rhodes, right? " The woman asked again this time with a smile. Sarah was confused, " Yes and you are? " " You'll know soon enough. Are you alone? " Sarah flinched, her eyes rolling back inside to see Derrick shoving his head out of place. Their eyes met and Sarah threw him a killer stare which drove Derrick back in place. The woman noticed her slight panic, " I guess not. " " I am, I... I am, I'm alone__ " I don't care, I'll be quick as possible. " Sarah was gulping for air, she tried to conceal the fear that was taking over her. " You're a friend of Leah. " Sarah arched a brow in surprise, it wasn't a question so she wasn't sure of what to say. " Yes__ " Good, she's dead... died terribly, " Sarah needed to know who the hell the woman was, " Who are__ " Leave her be, or you'll turn up worse than she did. " Sarah staggered backward, her firm grip on the doorknob was what kept her standing still.
