All through her ride home Sarah pondered how she could make good use of the new information she had, that Olivia was sleeping with her worker. Never would she have imagined that there was such an affair happening right under their noses. Sarah knew it was important news, if it wasn't why were they hiding it? Sarah could feel her adrenaline pumping, she was finally feeling confident about her plight.
She anticipated her meeting with Derrick, she hoped that he was somehow able to obtain fruitful information. If for once the universe were on her side, then it would be incriminating. Which will create room for blackmail. Sarah caught herself smiling and nodding as she envisioned her thoughts. Then there was the option of telling Tyler about her discovery, she had to tell him, and she promised to keep him in the loop. But that would be after she had gotten information from Derrick, she had to know the connection between Stephanie and Mark first.
As Sarah approached the house, she perceived a peculiar aroma just outside the house. She paused as she began sniffing the air around her till it led her to the porch. She was concerned because she wasn't expecting to get that enticing smell from inside the house. She became curious, she wondered if Derrick was occupied with someone else, which was weird because he wasn't supposed to know anybody. As she opened the door, the scent became more potent. She strolls further into the house and straight to the dining table because that's where she suspected to see the root. And she saw him.
It was Derrick, he was seated opposite where the food was placed with his hands under his chin, he was wearing a broad, charming smile. Sarah was stunned, she froze where she stood as she carefully scrutinized him. He looked different, other than the fact that he was looking normal and cleaned up, this was different. First off, he was smiling, that was bizarre. For a second there she thought she was in the wrong house. He had his hair neatly packed up, there was this unusual shine he had in his eyes, almost like that of a dog eagerly waiting for its owner.
His brows raised, his smile got, even more, deeper as time elapsed, his eyes brighter, and he was happy for some reason. Sarah felt like she was star struck, she was briefly swept away by whatever picture Derrick was trying to paint. To make matters worse he was wearing her apron, he looked cute in it she had to admit. Sarah wasn't aware when a soft laugh escaped her lips. For that moment she forgot about Peter from Landmark, she forgot about Leah, she forgot about her.
