‘I have to go on,’ he determined. Yet he felt that it was impossible for his feet to carry him any further. He tried to move and groaned again. A refreshing hand was then laid on his forehead and a moment later something damp and cool. “Go to sleep, you are quite safe and no one shall hurt you.” It was the same musical voice that he had heard before. Somehow it was reassuring, almost as if his mother was speaking.
