The rain was tipping down onto this hillside. It bounced off the cops assembled here and down the track past the old blue car the other side of the cabin. One or two cops had already lost their footing and got muddy knees. As they climbed through the trees to the top of the ridge they started to see the roof of the cabin and held their position for orders. There were two other cops, snipers up in the trees. They’d secured a line of sight to the little house. Everything sat still, dripping for about half a minute and Morres finally waved the signal to those on the ground.
