A ping muffled out from his pocket. It was a text from Tony. ‘La Mesa, have news, what you drinking?’ Usually, even without the cryptic middle sentence, Salvador would be easily turned towards the rest of the day and a good deal of the next morning being spent in the bar with Tony but today, Have news swung it. ‘Cuba libre,’ texted Salvador. It was about 4pm and he knew Tony would be long passed beer and wine. He’d be on the hard stuff, probably rum, and now he had someone who could take it on through to the morning with him.
