I had forgotten we had a fireplace, in fact, I had forgotten we had a barbecue grill and a red brick courtyard.
When we walked outside, Luke Robin and Quill had taken their position in front of the unlit fireplace as the rest of the pack stood on the sides, leaving an aisle to walk on. Becky went to her friend, and I made my way to Abby, who was by the front with the rest of my family.
"Jane, would you do the honors?" Robin asked gesturing the pit as I stood with Abby.
I walked towards the pit, "Flamaro Incaendia." I chanted, "Projecilatom."
The flame flickered and Emma lead me to Robin's side, "You're still our Queen."
"We are here to undo a bond of two members of the Red Crescent Pack." Robin began.
"Some bonds last longer than others, some don't. "Luke continued.
Quill picked up a bag, "The Moon Goddess may have brought them to us, and a part of them will remain with us as they make their own journey." He said and passed them a strand of a grey dried herb. He passed one to me as well.
"Gregory Werlt and Anna Werlt you're now looking at your bond to this pack, do you accept to break it?" Robin asked as the two walked up to us. They stood across us and the ranks, including me, held them over the fire.
They looked at each other once more, "Yes." They said in unison.
We dropped them and they swayed slightly before they reached the flame and the fire ate it up, turning their bond to the pack into ash.
As I watched the ash and sparks of fire light the night sky, a thought came to mind, but I knew it couldn't be. Maybe Robin's and I's bond was like a pack bond, but that meant little. Curiosity filled me, and I was sure I was going to asked my questions right when I saw him. We needed to talk eventually.
