Chapter Five-Safe

I walked into the hospital and saw my mum sitting in reception reading one of the magazines that they have delivered weekly for pack members to read while they are waiting for the appointments “Mum.” I walked over to his mum. “Brody said a she-wolf was found at the south border in a pretty bad way. Has there been any updates from Doctor Charles yet on how she is doing?” “No, darling, there hasn't been. She is in pretty bad shape. I hope she survives this so we can help her and find out what happened to her.” “I wonder where she came from? The closest pack to us was Blue Lake Mountain. The next closest pack to us is a twelve-hour drive from us.” just then a nurse walked into reception when I suddenly caught a smell of honeysuckle and cinnamon. “What is that lovely smell?” “It's our mate. She is here somewhere and she is hurt. Find our mate. Go to our mate.” My wolf Kojax was pacing around in my head at the smell of their mate being close by. “Brandon. What's wrong?” I looked back at his mum. “Kojax said our mate is here, and I think he is right. I can smell her. The smell was coming from behind those doors.” “Brandon, the only person behind those doors is Doctor Charles and the young lady that was found.” “Go to mate. Go to mate now.” I took of running through the doors before they closed and started looking through all the rooms till he came to the last one. When I looked through the glass window I saw the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in his whole life. She was lying on a hospital bed with tubes coming out of her and a machine monitoring her heartbeat. “Brandon. Why did you run off like that?” “Is this the she-wolf that you were on about, mum? She is beautiful. Who did this to her?” “Yes, son, it is. I don't know who has done this to her. She has been unconscious since she was found. We don't even know her name.” My mum touched my arm “go to her son. She is your mate. It is known that if a wolf has been injured, having their mate close by can help them heal faster, and before you say anything, yes, it can still work even if you're not mated yet. The sooner she is healed and awake, the sooner we can find out who she is and what happened to her.” I looked back at the girl that was my mate and smiled. As usual he knew his mum was right, the sooner she is awake and healed, the sooner he could spend the rest of his life loving her, making all her dreams come true and most importantly keeping her safe and making sure nobody will hurt her ever again. “Your right mum as always.” as I opened the door to her room her scent of honeysuckle and cinnamon hit him a lot more then it did when he first smelt it through the doors. I grabbed a chair from the corner of the room and pulled it up next to her bed, sat down and gently took her hand. “Hi. You don't know me, at least not yet. My name is Brandon Lewis Fairchild. I am the alpha here at White Mountain Pack, I am your mate. God, I wish I knew your name, but I know, whatever it is, that it is going to be as beautiful as you. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you by my side. I promise you here and now that nobody will ever hurt you again, that you are safe, loved, and I promise to make everyone of your dreams come true. All you will have to do is ask.” “Alpha.” I looked up and saw Doctor Charles looking at him “sorry Doctor Charles. Did you need something? How is she doing?” Doctor Charles shook his head. “No, I didn’t need anything. Your mum told me that this young lady is your mate, which makes her mine and the rest of the pack's new Luna, so I thought I would come in and give you an update personally instead of having one of my nurses do it.” I smiled and nodded as a singled for Doctor Charles to continue “the silver is almost completely out of her system. Once it is, her wolf can start the healing process. She has very deep wounds on her back. It looks like she was beaten with some sort of chain while being restrained by silver chains or cuffs of some kind. She has a few broken ribs and a small skull fracture. I will be monitoring her closely and, like I said, once the silver is out of her system, her wolf should start healing her, but having you here will help the healing. Do you have any questions?” “Just one. Will she make a full recovery from her injuries?” “There is no reason why she shouldn't make a full recovery from her injuries, but we don't know if she will have any P.T.S.D from what she suffered and if she does, I will be able to advise you on the best way to help her through while also helping her through it as well. Alpha this young lady has a very long road ahead of her. Whatever happened to this young girl has made her stronger because she somehow managed to stay alive with all that silver running through her blood. I have never in all my years seen that much silver in a wolf, forgive me for saying this alpha, but the young girl shouldn’t have survived with all that silver in her. She must be very special. Kojax started growling in my head and stood up at Doctor Charles for what he had just said and pushed his way to the front of me to take over and speak with the good Doctor. “She is special Doctor Charles. She is my mate and the soon-to-be new Luna of White Mountain Pack. I don’t want the rest of the pack to know she is here and that she is my mate until she has woken up and myself and her have had time to get to know one another. Do I make myself clear?” Doctor Charles nodded. “Good, because if anyone finds out I know it, has to have come from this hospital and I will come down on whoever opened their mouth so hard they will wish they were a mute. I am not having the health and safety of my mate jeopardise because someone can’t keep their mouth shut. So you make sure your staff know as well.” “Brandon, you can’t speak to the Doctor that way. I know you are worried about her, but he is doing his best to save this young girl who is your mate and the new soon to be Luna of the pack. The least you can do is be nice to him.” Kojax's turned to look at his mum, and that is when she realised that Kojax had come to the surface. “Kojax, my darling son, I know your scared for your mate, and you want to be close to her, but I need you to bring Brandon forward again so that he can sit with her, while she is unconscious to help her heal. Can you do that for me please, my boy?” Kojax nodded and Luna Michelle and Doctor Charles watched Kojax's eyes change from amber to hazel “Brandon. Are you back?” “Yes Mum I am. Doctor Charles, I am sorry about Kojax. He just got a little pissed at you when you said that she shouldn’t have survived with that much silver running through her blood, and to be honest, I was as well, but I know you were just telling me the truth because I smelt the silver on Beta Brody when he came and told me what had happened, but also Kojax shouldn’t have spoken to you like that, but I would appreciate it if nobody else finds out that she is my mate and soon to be Luna of the pack just like Kojax asked. Mum that includes you.” They both nodded and I went and sat back down next to my mate and waited.
