Chapter Four-Found

“I can’t believe that nobody survived the attack at the Blue Lake Mountain Pack. Those rogues were obviously after something and didn’t find what they were looking for. I have never seen Luna Michelle so angry over another pack's death. I wonder what the rogues were after.”

“I got no idea Darius, mate, but that is why Brandon has tightened patrols and is currently having a meeting with the elders so that he can find out what is going on and how we as a pack can help.”

“Hopefully he will get some answers, Brody. I have never seen Brandon so stressed since he had become the alpha until Blue Lake Mountain was destroyed.”

Darius and I continued on walking back to the pack house when I stopped “Darius. Do you smell that?”

Darius sniffed the air at the same time Brody did again, and they both looked at one another “blood”. They said in unison and started running in the direction that the smell was coming from. Darius and I ran towards the south border of the pack territory, where we found our head warrior Max and a few other worries in front of them staring at something. “Max. What seems to be the problem?”

Max turned and looked at Me and Darius “Beta Brody, Gamma Darius, there is a body of a female wolf lying just outside our border. She has been badly beaten and is bleeding, and I can smell silver coming off of her.” Darius and I looked at one another and then back at Max.“ Have you checked to see if the she-wolf is still bleeding, and is she a rogue?”

Max looked between us and turned to the other warriors for answers, and it was the newest warrior that spoke up, “Beta, Gamma, she doesn't smell like a rogue, and yes, she is still breathing. What would you like us to do?”

“Thank you for answering the question, Jack, even though your head warrior should already have known the answers. I am going to mindlink Luna Michelle and find out.”

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, trying to sense Luna Michelle and when I did I opened the mindlink “Luna Michelle. We have a situation down at the south border. I know Brandon is in a meeting with the elders and alpha Marcus. It is a she-wolf. She has been badly beaten, she is bleeding heavily, we can smell silver all over her, and she is alive.”

“Bring her to the hospital now. I will inform Doctor Charles that you are on your way and Brody HURRY. We all know what silver can do to a wolf.”

“Yes Luna. We are on our way.” I turned to Darius and then went and picked up the injured she-wolf. “Luna Michelle said to bring her to the hospital without a moment to lose.” Everyone nodded, and the she-wolf grumbled out in pain as I adjusted her in his arms “You're okay. You're safe now.” Once I had reassured her, I took off running to the hospital with Darius and the young warrior Jack following on either side of me.

“Brody, there you are? Is this the young lady Luna Michelle was telling me about? Poor child looks like she has been to hell and back and still managed to get herself to safety. Please lay her on the bed.” I placed the she-wolf on the bed so that Doctor Charles could examine her. “This poor girl must have been beaten multiple times a day for at least two weeks. Does alpha Brandon know that she is here?”

“My son and husband are currently in a meeting with the elders discussing the rogue attacks and finding out what we can do to help. We do not want the same thing happening that happened to the Blue Lake Mountain Pack. Once the meeting is done, I will have Brody inform Alpha Brandon of the situation, but until then, you do your job and save this young girl's life. Do I make myself clear, Doctor Charles.” The doctor looked at the Luna and knew that she meant what she said. “I fully understand Luna.”

“Brody go and see if Brandon has finished with his meeting and let him know what has happened. Darius, go and ask Hayley to find this young lady some clothes that she can wear once she is awake, and Jack, thank you for helping your Beta and Gamma bring this young lady to the hospital. I will make sure Alpha Brandon knows that you were by their side. Return to your duties. I am going to wait outside while the doctor works on her and I will be here if she wakes up. Off you all go. Now.”

I ran at wolf speed up to the pack house and up to the third floor where the meeting was taking place and saw that Brandon and Alpha Marcus were saying their goodbyes to the elders. “Brandon?”

Brandon turned at the sound of his name being called “Brody what's up man? You look like you have run a marathon, and why do you smell like silver? Oh my god, are you hurt?”

“No, I am not hurt. That's why I came to find you. When on patrol, Darius and I smelt blood, so we headed in the direction of the south border where Max and his team were patrolling, and we found a she-wolf that was badly beaten, bleeding heavily and was covered in silver. I mind linked your mum, and she told me to take her to the hospital straight away and then come and find you to tell you what was going on and to tell you to go to the hospital straight away.”

“Okay. I will head down there now. Do we know anything about the she-wolf? Is she a rogue?”

“No, she is not a rogue. She doesn't smell like one. Doctor Charles said that because of the state of her, she has been through hell and back and somehow managed to survive”

Brandon nodded his head. “Okay, at least we know she isn't a rogue. I wonder who she is.”
