AMELIA'S POV "Hey darling, it's me again, can you please call me when you get my message? I'm worried sick and I just wanted to know when you'll be back." I say at the tone of the voicemail beep before ending it with a sigh as I flop back down on the bed. I'd been trying to reach my husband's phone all day and throughout yesterday too but he wasn't picking up and neither was he returning my messages. Sudden disappearances from time to time wasn't a behavior that was new from Jacob and yet I couldn't help but worry everytime he pulled all nighters at the office or went on long business trips and didn't bother to call or text till he'd suddenly reappear back. Tonight was our fifth marriage anniversary and I'd planned out a lot to surprise him and maybe finally revisit the topic of trying for a baby I couldn't understand why he didn't like talking about, we were at a point where we were very financially comfortable so I didn't see why he loathed the conversation so more but I was willing to risk awakening the wrath of his anger at the moment. Married life with Jacob hadn't necessarily been all fluffy clouds and smiles, an accurate description of our situation would be a bed of roses, beautiful to the eyes and very prickly once you come in contact with. I constantly wondered what had happened to the man I married and repeatedly found myself thinking of how my life would've turned out if I hadn't left with him those years ago. Deciding to do something spontaneous as he wasn't showing up, I head off to the shower to freshen up and once I'm done, I select a the lovely dress I had gotten a while back that may have cost me a heavy amount of money but looked absolutely gorgeous and then I do my hair, makeup, and then I take a long glance at myself in the mirror, content with how my fiery red hair cascading in expertly curled waves down my back and my green orbs twinkled in the light of the room. With one last peep at the mirror, I smile and my bag with the snacks I had made earlier and a few other decorations and goodies before heading out with a destination in mind. It's relatively late so there's almost no traffic by the time I get to the company and the security greets me with a warm familiar smile as I make my way through the entrance and upstairs by the elevator ride. I knew Jacob wasn't at any official trip yet and last I'd seen him was yesterday morning when he had left for work and I had stayed back home because I'd been having bad cramps, so he had to be at the office. It was an unhealthy habit of his to work so late and tirelessly, one that made us a lot of money but kept him forever far away from home and added to the cracks of our marriage. If one were to ask me what exactly was wrong with our marriage, I wouldn't be able to put it in just one sentence because I didn't even know where to start. I knew one thing for sure and that was how much I loved Jacob, so much so that being with him was enough for me and I had left everything behind without a second glance. Jacob Wilson loved me too and that much I once knew, the problem now was I couldn't say if the feeling was still as it used to me. The flame of our marriage was gradually dying out and if he wasn't going to do anything but hide behind his desk of papers all day, I was going to take matters into my own hands and reawaken the passionate, loving man I had exchanged vows with at the alter. Moving to Beverly hills had been a big step for the both of us, me especially and gradually we had started up our own company from scratch. With a lot of hardwork, countless sleepless nights and tireless efforts, we had now gotten to were we were now and ran one of the best, most talked about housing management companies and I couldn't be more proud of him and myself. I make a mental note to remember checking in on the receptionist who had fallen ill last week and hadn't been able to come to work yet as I walk past her vacant desk. I halt briefly to readjust my sultry outfit that accentuated my curves and was just fit for everything that I had in mind for tonight and matched my eye color perfectly and then I run a hand through my hair to smoothen any unseen strays. Brightening my smile, I then continue on my way down to his office that was located down the hallway there offices after mine on the opposite side. Once I'm at the door, I tentatively take a hold of the doorknob and with an even brighter smile, I let myself in. I must've been too excited or distracted to not have heard the sounds or maybe the room had some sort of soundproof because the scene I had just walked in on was one I hadn't ever foreseen or thought of. Spread out on my husband's table, completely naked as she screamed her brains out was none other than my supposed best friend and one of the company's staffs and plowing into her with determination and stamina he never once had with me was my said to be husband. With a loud gasp of horror escaping my mouth, the bag I had been holding drops to the floor and only then is my presence noted as they jump apart startled and staring at them in that moment, I honestly wished the floor would just crack open and swallow me whole right on spot.
