The golden light behind the Ancient Door vanished as quickly as it had appeared, leaving the chamber silent once again. Only the soft whisper of the wind echoed through the ancient halls beneath the Heavenly Palace. Yet despite the silence, an uneasy feeling settled over the kingdom, as though something ancient had stirred from a long, forgotten sleep.
The next morning, the Dragon King summoned Queen Amanda and Prince Kadosh to the Royal Library. The library was the oldest building in the kingdom, built by the very first Dragon King thousands of years ago. Towering shelves stretched toward the ceiling, filled with countless ancient scrolls, weathered books, and sacred records that had been carefully preserved through generations. The air carried the scent of old parchment and polished wood, while rays of sunlight filtered through the crystal windows, illuminating particles of dust floating peacefully through the room.
Without speaking, the Dragon King led them to a large stone table near the center of the library. Beneath it was a small wooden chest secured with an ancient golden lock.
He carefully unlocked it.
"I have never opened this chest before," he said quietly. "Only the ruler of the Dragon Kingdom is permitted to read what is hidden inside."
Amanda and Kadosh watched silently as he slowly lifted the lid.
A cloud of dust rose into the air, revealing a weathered scroll tied neatly with a faded golden ribbon. Its edges had darkened with age, showing that it had remained untouched for centuries.
The Dragon King untied the ribbon with great care and gently unrolled the scroll across the stone table.
Amanda immediately leaned forward.
Her eyes widened in surprise.
"It's the same language."
The Dragon King nodded slowly.
"Our ancestors called it the Language of Heaven," he explained. "It is said that only a handful of people throughout history could truly understand its meaning."
Kadosh stepped closer, unable to hide his curiosity.
"What does it say?"
The Dragon King took a slow breath before reading the translated words aloud.
"When darkness rises for the second time, the Ancient Door shall awaken. The chosen heir of the Dragon Kingdom shall walk beyond the gate. He shall stand between two worlds and decide the fate of both."
The words echoed softly through the silent library.
Amanda slowly turned toward her son.
"The chosen heir..."
Kadosh folded his arms thoughtfully.
"Father... do you think the prophecy is talking about me?"
The Dragon King remained silent for several moments before answering honestly.
"I don't know."
He lowered his eyes to the scroll and continued reading.
"The Door must never be forced open. It shall only answer the call of Heaven. Whoever enters with pride shall never return. Whoever enters with courage shall receive the truth."
Amanda felt a chill run down her spine.
"So the stories were true..."
"There is more," the Dragon King said quietly.
He continued reading the final lines written upon the ancient parchment.
"When the stars darken and the earth trembles, the Guardian Beyond the Gate shall awaken. The final promise of the Heavenly King shall begin."
Silence filled the library once again.
None of them spoke.
Each was lost in thought, trying to understand the meaning of the ancient prophecy.
Then suddenly—
A deep rumble echoed throughout the palace.
The stone floor shook beneath their feet.
The towering bookshelves trembled violently as ancient books and scrolls tumbled onto the floor. Dust filled the air while crystal lamps swung from the ceiling.
Outside, frightened dragons roared nervously as dark clouds gathered across the once-clear sky, covering the kingdom in an unnatural shadow. Strong winds howled around the palace towers, and flashes of golden lightning streaked silently through the clouds.
Before anyone could react, the library doors burst open.
A palace guard rushed inside, breathing heavily after running through the palace corridors.
He dropped to one knee before the Dragon King.
"Your Majesty!" he shouted, struggling to catch his breath.
The Dragon King stepped forward immediately.
"What has happened?"
The guard looked up, fear clearly visible on his face.
"The Ancient Door..."
He swallowed hard before finishing his report.
"It's glowing again!"
