The First Day At Work

834 Words
The next morning, Amanda woke up early with excitement. It was her first day as the Personal Assistant to the CEO of Lord City Group. She offered a short prayer, got dressed in a neat business outfit, and left for work. When she arrived at the company, she was warmly welcomed by Mr. Khan. "Good morning, Amanda," he said with a gentle smile. "Good morning, sir," Amanda replied respectfully. Mr. Khan handed her a schedule for the day. "From today onward, you will be responsible for organizing my daily appointments, preparing my documents, answering important calls, and making a cup of tea for me every morning." "I understand, sir," Amanda answered confidently. "I will do my best." "I believe you will." Amanda immediately began her duties. She organized files, arranged meetings, and prepared a fresh cup of tea exactly the way Mr. Khan liked it. He noticed how carefully she carried out every task and was impressed by her dedication. A few hours later, Mr. Khan received an important business call. "There is an urgent meeting with our business partners," he said as he stood up. "Amanda, come with me." "Yes, sir." They left the office together in Mr. Khan's luxurious car. During the journey, Amanda admired the city through the window while Mr. Khan occasionally glanced at her with a smile. Before heading to the meeting, Mr. Khan stopped at an elegant shopping mall called Golden Store, a place known for selling only luxury items. Amanda looked around in surprise. "Sir, why are we here?" "I need to buy a few things," he replied. Instead of shopping for himself, Mr. Khan selected several expensive dresses, handbags, shoes, and accessories. Amanda stared at him in confusion. "Sir... these are too expensive." "They're for you," he said calmly. Amanda quickly shook her head. "I can't accept such costly gifts." Mr. Khan smiled. "Consider them a welcome gift for joining the company." Amanda hesitated for a moment before bowing respectfully. "Thank you very much, sir." After paying for everything, Mr. Khan drove Amanda home before returning to his own residence. As Amanda stood outside her house watching his car disappear into the distance, someone called her name. "Amanda!" She didn't hear it at first. "Amanda!" Still, she remained lost in thought. "Amanda!" The voice continued until it had been called seven times. Finally, Amanda turned around. "Uncle Mali!" She ran toward him and hugged him happily. Her uncle had been working overseas for many years, and she had not seen him in a long time. "I've missed you so much," Amanda said with tears of joy. "I've missed you too," Uncle Mali replied, smiling warmly. They went inside the house and spent hours talking and laughing together. After a while, Uncle Mali looked outside and asked, "Who was the gentleman who dropped you off?" Amanda smiled. "He's my boss, Mr. Khan." "The CEO of Lord City Group?" Uncle Mali asked in surprise. "Yes." Uncle Mali's eyes widened. "Do you know how powerful that company is? Lord City Group is the biggest company in the world. I've been trying to present one of my engineering projects to them for years, but I've never had the opportunity." Amanda smiled confidently. "Don't worry, Uncle. Come to the company tomorrow. I'll introduce you to Mr. Khan." "You can really do that?" "Of course." The next morning, Uncle Mali arrived at Lord City Group. After introducing himself at the reception, he was directed to the CEO's office. Mr. Khan welcomed him politely. "Please, have a seat." "Thank you, Mr. Khan." They discussed Uncle Mali's project for nearly an hour. When the presentation ended, Mr. Khan looked toward Amanda. "You know this man?" "Yes, sir," Amanda answered with a smile. "He's my uncle." For a brief moment, Mr. Khan's expression changed. He remembered seeing Amanda smiling happily with Uncle Mali the previous evening and had secretly wondered whether the man was her boyfriend. Without saying anything, he quietly closed the proposal. "I'm sorry," he said. "I don't think this project meets our company's requirements." Amanda looked confused. "Sir... is something wrong with the proposal?" Mr. Khan remained silent. Amanda suddenly understood what had happened. She smiled softly. "Sir, I think you've misunderstood. Uncle Mali isn't my boyfriend. He's my mother's younger brother." Mr. Khan looked at her in surprise. "Your uncle?" "Yes, sir." A faint smile appeared on Mr. Khan's face. "In that case, I believe I judged the proposal too quickly." He reopened the file and carefully reviewed it once more. After reading through the details, he nodded. "This is an excellent project." He stood up and extended his hand toward Uncle Mali. "Congratulations. Lord City Group will support your project." Uncle Mali could hardly believe his ears. "Thank you so much, Mr. Khan." Amanda smiled happily as the two men shook hands. From that day forward, Uncle Mali often worked with Lord City Group, and the friendship between Amanda and Mr. Khan continued to grow stronger with each passing day.
