The Assassin

622 Words
Several months passed, and Amanda settled comfortably into her role as Mr. Khan's personal assistant. Her dedication, honesty, and intelligence earned the respect of many employees. Every morning, she prepared Mr. Khan's tea, organized his schedule, attended business meetings, and handled important documents with great care. As time went on, Mr. Khan and Amanda became close friends. Although he was her employer, he always treated her with kindness and respect. Whenever work ended late, he personally drove her home to ensure she arrived safely. One evening, after another busy day at the office, Mr. Khan dropped Amanda off at her house as usual. "Have a good evening, Amanda," he said with a smile. "You too, sir. Thank you for the ride," Amanda replied. Mr. Khan nodded before driving away. Amanda turned toward her gate, unaware that several masked men were hiding nearby. As soon as she reached the entrance, the men surrounded her. Amanda stepped back in fear. "Who are you?" she asked. "What do you want from me?" One of the masked men laughed coldly. "You've made too many enemies." "I don't understand," Amanda replied. "I've never harmed anyone." "Our job isn't to explain," another man said as he raised a gun. "Our job is to eliminate you." Amanda's heart raced. Before she could react, the leader pulled the trigger. Bang! Just as the bullet sped toward Amanda, someone suddenly appeared in front of her. Mr. Khan. The bullet struck him instead. Amanda screamed. "Sir!" Ignoring the pain, Mr. Khan stood firmly before her. His eyes became cold as he faced the attackers. "No one," he said in a deep voice, "is allowed to hurt Amanda." Before the assassins could fire again, Mr. Khan moved with unbelievable speed. Within seconds, he disarmed one man, knocked another to the ground, and defeated the rest with incredible strength. The assassins realized they were no match for him. "Retreat!" their leader shouted. The men fled into the darkness. Amanda rushed to Mr. Khan's side. "Sir, you're bleeding!" "It's only a small wound," he replied calmly. Amanda looked at him in confusion. "How did you know I was in danger? You had already driven away." Mr. Khan smiled faintly. "I live nearby. I happened to return this way and saw what was happening." Although his explanation sounded reasonable, Amanda couldn't shake the strange feeling in her heart. The timing was simply too perfect. She thanked him sincerely. "You saved my life. I don't know how to repay you." "You don't owe me anything," Mr. Khan said. "Just promise me you'll be more careful." "I will." After making sure Amanda was safe, Mr. Khan returned to his car and drove away. Amanda stood outside her house, watching his car disappear into the night. Something about him felt mysterious. A few minutes later, her best friend, Chogzo, arrived to visit her. The moment Chogzo saw Amanda's frightened expression, she became worried. "Amanda! What happened?" Amanda told her everything—from the masked men to Mr. Khan's sudden appearance. Chogzo listened carefully. "That was terrifying," she said. "Thank God your boss arrived in time." Amanda nodded. "Yes... but something doesn't make sense." "What do you mean?" "He couldn't have reached me that quickly. It's almost as if... he already knew the attack was going to happen." Chogzo remained silent for a moment. "Maybe it was just a coincidence." "Maybe," Amanda replied, though she wasn't convinced. That night, Amanda lay awake in bed, replaying everything in her mind. The mysterious speed. The unbelievable strength. The way Mr. Khan had protected her without hesitation. For the first time since meeting him, Amanda began to wonder whether her handsome billionaire boss was hiding a secret far greater than anyone could imagine.
