Ruby parked in front of Dr A's house. She walked to the door, knocked and walked in.
" Dr A" she called out but no one responded. She heard a sound coming from the back and she walked to the back door, looked outside and saw a guy chopping a wood.
The guy wore a tank top. The sweat on his body glistening as the sun shined on him. His muscles looked great as he lifted the axe to cut the wood. He turned around to see Ruby standing. He slowly walked towards her. He stopped just a few inches away from her.
Standing in front of her, she could tell he was at least 5'7 or 5'9. He had broad shoulders and the brown colour of his eyes glowed. His hair color she couldn't tell but it looked brownish Black. He leaned forward till their faces were almost touching.
" You might just have a bug go for a trip in there" he said referring to her open mouth. It was then she realized she had been staring at him with her mouth open. She immediately closed it and moved backwards.
She cleared her throat." Um......I......um... I'm looking for Dr A" She starmmered
He smirked and walked into the house to the kitchen. Ruby followed him.
" I don't know. He went out for business" he replied
" So you do know?" she said.
" What?" he asked confused.
" I mean you said you didn't know where he went but you just said he went out for business, so that means you know where he went to." She told him and he laughed a little.
"Who are you anyway? I haven't seen you here before. Are you his son?" She asked him.
He almost choked on the water he was drinking " No" he answered firmly. " Definitely not he's son. I'm Rafael, his friend." he said extending his hand for a handshake. She shaked him and was about to introduce herself, he said " And you are Ruby, the reason for Dr A's sleepless nights."
" Well you don't have to put it that way." She said almost in a whisper.
They stood there holding hands and staring at each other for a while.
" Ruby" Tyler called for the living room causing them to break their eye contact and move away from each other.
Tyler and the rest of the gang walked in with Dr A.
" Oh hey you" Tyler said to Ruby dragging his words on seeing Rafael and looking at her with a questioning eye.
" I don't know I just met him here too." She told him
" Oh I see you've met Rafael." Dr A said walking towards him.
" Your son?" Nessa asked
" No!" Rafael and Dr Aiden said together.
" He's my friend and he's also a vampire"
" Oh, how old are you?" Noah asked
" Six......" Rafael replied
" Sixty?" Noah interrupted.
" .... hundred" he completed
" oh God" Ruby whispered.
" Six hundred!? Dude your old." Noah said.
" He is here to help." Dr A said." The did a little search and found two other bodies like that too. So my guess is that Skylar is a banshee." he told them.
" A what?" Noah asked
"A banshee, the wailing woman or lady senses death?" Ruby said to him trying to make to make him understand but Noah didn't. " You'll find out later." Ruby said giving up.
" The bodies all had their internal organs removed. Now there are a lot of monsters that kill that way."
" Like a windego?" Tyler said
" Yes, one of them. I need more information. Skylar what else do you remember from last night?" Dr A asked.
"Um I remember the dream I had. In the dream I saw a pregnant woman with long black hair with a blood smeared white dress. A baby crying, there was also a very bad corpse, that's what lead me to the river" Skylar said trying to recall.
Dr A walked to his desk and picked up a book and began flipping through the pages. " The baby crying, did it sound close or distant?"
" It sounded close." Skylar replied
He sighed " The Kuntilanak, also know as the Pontianak."
" What is it?" Ruby asked.
" It's a mystical creature. A vengeful female astral spirit. It takes the form of a pregnant woman with a pale skin, long black hair and dressed in blood smeared white dress. She kills her victims by using her long fingernails to physically remove their organs to be eaten. She appears mostly on a full moon. The signs of her presence is an infant crying, feminine laughter or the smell of a decaying corpse. If the baby crying is near then means that it is here." he read from the book.
" So it's a vengeful spirit, then the men she killed last night must have done something to her and she came back for revenge." Tyler suggested.
" Maybe, maybe not" Dr A replied
" The book said it comes on a full moon but last night wasn't a full moon." Rafael added
" I don't know how that is possible, I have never encountered a Kuntilanak before but we will find out. Let's sift our focus to the full moon." Dr A said.
" What about it?" Noah asked.
" We know you're a banshee and you're a goblin but we still don't know what two of you are." he said pointing to Tyler and Nessa.
Tyler held his ears like he was I. pain.
" Are you okay?" Ruby whispered to him.
" Yeah am fine, my ears just hurt a little."
She nodded and continued listening.
" The full moon makes were wolves transform fully. Now if one of you Is a were wolf, we have to know before the full moon "
" What about the Kuntilanak?" Skylar asked.
" I'll still need more time to figure out how to catch it but for now let's keep our boundaries at least until we know how to defend ourselves."
Nessa stood beside Ruby and whispered to her. " You know if you like someone, you need to be open about and try not to stare at him with your boyfriend standing next to you"
Ruby rolled her eyes and whispered back " I don't like him, there's something about him."
" Duh, for starters those biceps"
"Hold your feelings to yourself, you have a boyfriend too. It's not his physical features, how face looks familiar."
Everyone starts to leave the room, she walks towards him.
" Have i met you somewhere before?" she asked him
" Maybe in your dreams"
" Please. Seriously have we?"
" No love we haven't. See you." He winked at her and went to meet Dr A.
