Chapter Four

1597 Words
Being a Saturday, Olivia woke up a little later than she normally would on weekdays. She caught up with work over two cups of coffee and decided to take a break when it was a little over 12 noon. Before shutting down her laptop, She checked her email again to see if she had gotten a response from George Westlan. After refreshing her mail page twice, nothing new popped up so she put the laptop aside. Before focusing on other things, Olivia picked up her phone and sent George a text message, reminding him of their appointment by 4 pm. Seeing she had enough time before meeting the spoiled brat actor, Olivia cleaned her apartment, made brunch, ate and ended up taking a few minutes nap. By 2:50 pm, Liv was up again. She took a shower and got ready. Despite the fact that she was going for a work-related meeting, She decided to keep it simple by opting for casual wear and simple makeup. Because of George's Status and the fact that Olivia Price wouldn't want to be seen with him by the media to avoid unnecessary speculations, She booked a VIP spot for her meeting with George. It was a restaurant not too far from his home so she really hoped he was going to make it on time, unlike her who lived 33 minutes away from the restaurant and 39 minutes away from George's place. Due to unforeseen traffic, Olivia got to the restaurant just a few minutes past 4 pm. She was never a fan of lateness or tardiness and neither does she like someone keeping her waiting. She was ready to deeply apologise to George for being late, only to be told by the waitress that directed her to her reservation that her guest hadn't arrived. Olivia heaved a sigh, approached her table and settled down. She dug out her phone from her handbag and texted George, asking him where he was. She waited for a good fifteen minutes but got no reply. Left with no choice, Liv picked up her phone and dialled George's number. She waited for him to answer the call but he didn't. She called his number again and again but got no response. Olivia Price tried to control her anger as she sat. She couldn't believe she left the million and one things she had to do to show up for an appointment the person she was to coach didn't give a damn about. Words could not describe how Olivia hated being kept waiting for no good reason and to make matters worse, the so-called George Westlan wasn't answering his calls or replying to any of her text messages. Based on his file she went through, George had no work-related matters to attend to today, that's why she insisted they meet. From the years of experience in her profession, Olivia grew to be an expert in coming up with reasonable conclusions and reading people's mind. She had no doubt George knew what he was doing. Liv's blood began to boil at the probability of George being in the midst of a number of girls, having the time of his life while he kept her waiting like a fool. She reached for her phone again and dialled him. Just like the previous times, he did not pick up her call. George and Olivia's supposed meeting was meant to last for 30 to 40 minutes, if not less. But when it was 4.35 pm, she packed her stuff and left the restaurant. Liv heaved a frustrated sigh as soon as she settled in her car. She wished she could reach out to George right now. She wanted to give him a piece of her mind. Olivia reached for her handbag in the front passenger seat and took out her phone. Beside her handbag laid George's file. She opened it and located his management's number. She punched the digits in her phone and dialled the number. "Daniel Avero speaking, How may I help you?" Not that she cared, but everyone knew Daniel-aka Danny- to be George's puppet and manager. Puppet because he puts up with a lot of George's bullshit. "Hi. Olivia Price speaking. Associate of Smith & Pratt. I was assigned to coach George." "Good afternoon. Joe Peters informed me about you. How may I help you? Have you reached out to George already?" "Yes, I have, but I haven't gotten any reply. Do you by any chance know where he is, like right now? We were meant to meet half an hour ago but he didn't show up." "Oh, I was at his place this afternoon and he didn't mention a thing about you contacting him. He's at home. I still spoke to him a few minutes ago." Olivia shook her head in disbelief. She was right all along. George intentionally ignored her and kept her waiting. "Is it possible to see him today? I'm at Claire's restaurant." "Sure. I'll contact the securities and let them know you would be coming shortly." "Thank you, Daniel." "My pleasure!" He responded, then cut the call. Olivia put her phone aside, buckled her seatbelt and drove towards George's home with only one thing in mind, To give him a piece of her mind. .............. Olivia didn't have any trouble getting into George's mansion since Daniel had informed the securities about her arrival. She was only asked to provide her ID for confirmation that she was Olivia Price and she showed the securities her official ID card. Liv couldn't care less about what George's mansion looked like. She was too mad to appreciate the beauty of his luxurious home. She pulled up in the driveway, unbuckled her seatbelt, reached for her phone only and got down from the car. She pressed the doorbell when she got to the entrance and waited patiently for someone to open up. Moments later, Liv came face to face with a middle-aged man who she identified as the butler because of his outfit. "Good day ma'am. How may I help you?" He said politely. "Good afternoon. I'm here to see George Westlan." The butler did not bother asking if Olivia had an appointment with George because that was the security's job to clarify and confirm. For the fact that she was in George's premises, she was definitely given an appointment. "Please come with me." He ushered Olivia in. He led her to the lounge and offered her a seat. "Your name, please?" He asked. Olivia wanted to call out her full name but stopped herself. She didn't want what happened earlier to repeat itself. George was so full of himself. He could refuse to see her or order his guards to throw her out of his place upon hearing she was here. "Please tell him Daniel Avero sent me to him. He will understand." The butler nodded and went out of the lounge to God knows where. ................. "Now that you and Becca are engaged, it's obvious that my mom would double the pressure of wanting me to settle down," George said to Luis, his best friend, before connecting his glass to his lips for a sip of his wine. Luis chuckled, "Sorry bro. I had to be fast about it before another man takes my girl away by proposing to her before me." "I understand. You and Becca make a good team. You guys are perfect for each other." "Nice surprise party, by the way, I had so much fun." He added. "Yeah, we all noticed. All attention was on you instead of my fiancee who I threw the surprise party for." George smirked. "Not my fault." "I'll remember to skip your name on the guestlist the next time I organize a party." Luis joked. "You wouldn't dare!" Geo laughed. Before they could go further in their conversation, they were interrupted by Aaron, the butler. "Sir, you have a visitor." He directed at George, his boss. George arched a brow at Aaron. He was surprised, he wasn't expecting anyone. "She said Mr Daniel sent her." He explained. "Danny?" He asked, referring to his manager. "Yes sir," Aaron responded. With a confused look, Geo reached for his phone beside him and dialled Danny. He signalled to Aaron to take his leave. "Dan? Who did you send to meet me and why?" "Oh, that must be Olivia Price. Dude, you didn't tell me she reached out to you. Why didn't you show up for your appointment with her." " Good heavens!, Why did you send that b***h into my home?" "What do you mean? You've f****d her before?" "Shut the f**k up Dan. You shouldn't have given her a pass to my home. That girl is so rude and I'm trying to teach her a lesson." Daniel rolled his eyes on the other side. "Yeah, everyone is always rude to you. You better get your ass up and go apologize to her for keeping her waiting." "Like she's the only lawyer in the world who could coach me for the role." "You better take this whole thing serious, Man. The role you're going to play can either make or break your career." Dan said and then cut the call. George looked down at his phone, surprised that Danny hung upon him. He was always the one hanging up on Dan and not vice versa. "Everything okay?" Luis asked, concerned. "Y....yes." He answered after a while. "I'll be right back." George rose to his feet and made his way out of the living room to where Olivia Price was.
