“Janey Germaine, please report to the security desk. Janey Germaine to the security desk.” Janey’s heart leapt to the back of her throat at the sound of her name over the loudspeaker at the lodge. When the rain had started, they’d pulled everyone in off the trails, despite their complaints. Tourists didn’t understand how dangerous freezing rain could be, and she’d just stopped in front of the fireplace to warm her hands.
