April POV
I found Justin and he was with Declan in his study. I was scared that he would let Declan take me away. They must have sensed my presence because they both looked my way. I turn and run as fast as my legs can carry me. I ran to our floor, but I did not go to our room. I knew that would be the first place they looked. I hid in the last room on the right. I climbed into the closet to hide myself. I did not want Declan to find me.
I heard footsteps outside the door. I held my breath. The footstep receded and I waited for what felt like forever. Once it seemed quiet, I opened the closet door to peek out. I did not get a chance to see anything when a hand yanked me out of the closet. I fell to the ground. As I hit the ground I yelped. Standing above me was Declan. I got up as quickly as I could and ran towards the door.
I did not make it far as Declan grabbed my hand again. “Get away from me!” I screamed. I yanked my hand over and over. He finally let go just as I pulled one last time. I fell to the ground again. He started to creep towards me. Right before he reached me the door flew open. Justin let out this horrific growl.
“Get away from my mate NOW!” I then realized that it was Justin’s wolf Ryan talking. He looked at me with gentle eyes, but they were no longer honey brown, but a deep blue color with specks of amber in them. His eyes were memorizing. He grabbed my hand and wrapped his arms around me as I stood up. He pulled me into a giant hug and buried his face into the nook of my neck. “What do you think you are doing?” while his face is still close to my neck, causing shivers down my spine. Declan looked at us with a distasteful look. He said “I am here for...” But Ryan let out another growl. “YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW!”
Declan glared and said, “I am not leaving without my mate!” I looked at him in disbelief. “I am not your mate anymore. You rejected me, remember? I also accepted your rejection. I am never going back there again just for you all to abuse me. Especially you. You all made my life a living hell and I never did anything to provoke it.” Ryan had given Justin back control. “What does she mean that you abused her?” He already knew but I guess he wanted to hear it from Declan.
Justin POV
I reached the 5th floor just moments later and found one of the rooms open. I could tell that April was in that room, I could smell her and feel her fear. I ran to that room just to see Declan had my mates hand. At this point Ryan took over not liking one bit. April fell onto the floor and Ryan growled at Declan. I picked her up and Ryan pulled her close to us. She buries her face into my chest.
“You need to leave now” Ryan roared. He was ready to kill Declan. “We can’t kill him until April is marked. It will hurt her.” I told Ryan.
April says about the abuse that she and Jared had already told me about, but I wanted to hear him say how much he f****d up. I already want to kill just from what April told me the day we met . I want him to leave and if he won’t go willingly, I would not have an issue having him remove my force. April is starting to shake in my arms. It is time for him to go. I want my mate to be all to myself.
Declan POV
I knew I f****d up when I see Justin come through the door. s**t, how are we going to get out of this? I know he is going to have to forcefully remove me because I am not leaving without April. Even if I must take her by force. I know that will start a war. I hope April will be wise and just come with me. But I doubt it will be that easy.
“I will not leave without her by my side” I blurted out. That’s when she turned to look at me with the most serious look I have ever seen on a person. She began to yell about the pain me and pack put her through. She also reminded me of the fact that I was a f*****g i***t for rejecting her. My wolf in the back of my head telling me I deserve everything she gave me.
