I sat with Alisa on the plane as we flew over the land wondering what Lia had done in my absence. Had anything happened with Joe? I didn't want to know. Well, I did but didn't if you catch what I mean.
"How long till we get there?" I looked at Joe's sister.
"A few hours, once we land there will be a car to take us to your ranch." Her tone meter of fact, no emotion at all.
I could not read this woman. I prided myself on being able to judge people through their body language. This one gave off nothing. It drove me batty. I hardly had people I could not read. "Why didn't we just go back in your dragon form?" I knew my voice sounded gruff. I didn't care.
