"Stay in this bubble. I am going to open the side so he can get your position but as soon as he starts coming I will close it when he is close. Stay here until you see your wolf Lada." He instructed.
"Of course, Thank you for all your help." I knew he had risked something to do this to help me.
"You are welcome. You have a pretty important future ahead." He dropped me near the cave to the old ruins I had saved Mackie at. The thought of that red wolf so close to me had me shiver a bit. I watched as Tvso landed some distance away. As he landed I noticed his color faded and blended into the landscape. If you didn't know better, you would never have seen him.
I stayed in my chair, waiting. I was curious what would happen. Who knew dragons actually existed! How they were not seen I wondered until I seen what Tvso have done. Did planes run into them? So many questions popped into my brain it was Tala who snapped me out of it yelling "Dragon coming!" I turned my head in time to see the very black dragon coming my way up the canyon. Just as he got to where Tvso was hidden, Tvso appeared and attacked at the same time. They rolled, I watched sand, trees and other bits fly into the air. You could hear intense growling, so much so the earth was shaking with it. I watched a Tvso blocked each attack the black dragon did. Almost mockingly so.
They flew into the air, their talons aiming at each other hoping to get the belly. Tvso I seen grabbed both of the back legs on the black dragon. Dropping out of the sky like an eagle, their pace terrifying. I was sure both would hit the ground. At the last minute Tvso swung up and the black dragon landed with a huge crash. Sand, trees and other bits flung into the air. As that dragon slid to a stop, I watched Tvso land not far from it. He watched and waited. I too waited. I could see its head and eyes, closed at the time.
I held my breath, waiting I knew the dragon was not dead. Its eyes were closed, in death they open out of muscle contraction. So I knew he was not dead. Just as both of us waited for the black dragons next move a dragon, brownish in color with green lines and top scales bounded straight towards the black dragon. I heard Tvso roar. The brown dragon skidded to a stop to look. Lowering its head I noticed it was slightly smaller then Tvso. Structure the same but the height just smaller.
The brown dragon scooted closer to me. Standing between me and the black one on the ground. I watched as Tvso edged closer, his mouth open and a blue orb just between his teeth. I was curious what would happen.
Just as sudden, I watched the red eyes of the black dragon fly open he lunged toward me. The brown swung completely between me and the on coming dragon. I seen a huge blue flash of light, blinding my eyes, I blinked repeatedly until the light left enough so I could see. The black dragon was no more. Only a charred body remained. The ball and chair completely disolved. I was standing now, nothing around me.
"You will be safe now." Tvso came up to me. "This young warrior will take my place as your Dragon guard." He swung his head toward the brown dragon. "He is both dragon and wolf. He will follow you like a shadow. Do you take this oath young dragon?" Tvso turned his head to look at the brown one.
"I do, My Lord Tvso. I shall be her protection for as long as there is need of me and service to keep her safe." The brown dragon nodded his head to me first then a lower bow to Tvso.
"I consider this a sealed pact. Should you break this, understand under laws of the ancient dragon code you shall be removed as this one has been. I last of the elder dragons approve this pact and seal it with my light." As Tvso said that there was another flash of extremely bright light. Tvso looked to me "Isabel gave you a stone?"
I pulled the stone from my pocket. "Yes" I answered.
He got so close to my hand and stone, a golden haze blew onto the stone. Making it very very warm. "Carry this with you everywhere. Even when you change it will become part of your wolf. This is my token to the battle you face. Should you need me I will come just say my name." He rose to his full height. "Once this shift of darkness has happened. I will come back, I will teach you what has been taken out of your memories." With that he rose high into the air with just a jump. "Take care young she wolf."
Then he was nothing more then a bright star in the sky before he disappeared in the distance. I looked to the brown dragon, as he looked to me. An odd silence followed.
"My name is Joe." The brown dragon spoke after a few more minutes of silence.
"Accalia, though my friends call me Lia." I answered.
"Nice to meet you Lia," I heard him reply. "Have you ever shifted into wolf form?" He asked.
"No," I answered. Tala was jumping with excitment in my mind.
"I see," as he said that you watched as he morphed into a large black and silver wolf. "It takes practice. But I suspect your change will be quick based on your lineage." He stood before me, "I need to share breath with you as that way your change can be activated." He asked.
"Sure," I said.
His wolf leaned forward touching my forehead, I felt a jolt of not just electricity but something else I could not place. My mind saw my wolf form running forward as if coming closer and closer. I heard Tala let out a howl of exictement. I felt muscles I had bever felt before, parts of a body I never knew I had. The wolf in my mind became the wolf in real life. Joe stepped back, quiet he stood.
I felt Tala take the lead on this form, showing me how to run, jump and use the four legs I was suddenly given. "This feels amazing!" Tala squealed in delight.
I turned my eyes to see the black and silver wolf just sitting watching. Tala took us right to him and bumped heads with him. "Thank you," she almost purred.
"You are welcome. I will take you to the One who Remembers. She wishes to speak with you." Joe stood, leaping forward he took off well to the North of the ruins. My home and Red to the south. Soon I told myself I would be home and back in his arms.
As we ran Tala asked Joe "are you both wolf and dragon?"
"Yes, my father the Alpha and my mother a dragon ruler to the area," his tone solemn but with care.
Tala said no more. We ran, I waited to feel this body get tired. But, it did not. Just as we made it to a gate, I felt a magic unlike anything I had before. I seen an old plott hound long since gone, though in corporeal form stand before me. Another black female alive with ice blue eyes just next to him. One a ghost and one flesh a bone, working as a team. How odd, I thought.
"One who Remembers asked me to bring her descendent cub to her." Joe spoke to the two canines before us.
"You are the one recovered by Tvso?" The Plott hound asked.
"I am," I had Tala get the body to sit. Like I had seen Lada do many times.
"I will take you to her." The black female with the light blue eyes lead the way.
Both Joe and I walked in silence behind the dog infront of us. I was not sure who this was but knew somehow we were related. An earthen and stone home came into view. I seen horses off in a pasture. They looked up from a spacious grassy pasture. They were beautiful and very unique in their color markings and conformation. It was Joe who shouldered our side snapping our attention forward. Tala and I both in awe at the huge white wolf. The wolf's eyes were violet like Lada's. The size of this wolf bigger then even Joe.
"I see Joe activated your wolf." One who Remembers said.
"He did," I nodded. I was not sure what to call her.
"I am known as One who Remembers around here." As she said this, her form melded to an ancient looking woman. Her braid long and white down her back, her blue jeans faded, sandals on her feet and a tank top with handmade necklaces around her neck.
I felt Joe, elbow us yet again. With a sigh I heard Tala step back as the wolf in my mind did too. Looking down I was standing just as I had when Tvso had dropped me off at the ruins.
