Clara hung up the phone, her face glowing with unmistakable affection. Around twenty people filled the private room at The Century Club, and several men immediately started teasing about Landon.
"That guy's got nerves of steel," one said, swirling his whiskey. "Leaving a girlfriend like Clara here while he's out having fun."
Noah laughed heartily. "When Landon shows up, we're making him drink three shots as punishment!"
