The next two days were frustratingly slow. Tony called the police department first thing to let them know I wasn’t missing, and they told him they’d send someone around to take a statement. There were still a few days of school left, but Jill called in and let them know I wouldn’t be coming. Finals were all finished, so it wasn’t a problem. The last week of the school year was mostly coasting, anyway. I was supposed to go back for my junior year in September, but we’d cross that bridge when we got to it.
