Rain

599 Words
Once, I got into a routine with work and hanging out with a few new friends. Beta Chris is one of them. A few weeks went by, I still hadn't met or seen the Alpha. I decided tonight I would ask Chris about it. Put on a dress my friend Jordan and I picked out for my birthday party. It was a white sundress thigh high. The white really pops with my tan skin. I put my hair up. I figured being outside around a fire on a warm night was a smart idea. Let's just say my girls look great in my dress. Once Sam, another shewolf I met on my way to work. Came to walk with me. As we made our way down by fire I noticed alot more wolf's where here some I got to know from work and others from around town. Then some I had no clue about. Guess now is a better time than any for Rain and I to meet everyone. She was happy to be around other wolves for a change. Once drinking started and pizzas were out on tables. Rain started to get exciting. Moving around dancing along with music. Then it came to me. Fresh mountain rain hit my nose. Then rain took over, sniffing the air like something magical was about to happen. Then it disappears out of nowhere. I couldn't find it anywhere, like a ghost poof gone. Rain was so upset. Wouldn't tell me why. So I just blew it off. As it started to die off, I decided it was a good time to ask about alpha Alexander. Chris, is there a reason your Alpha hasn't wanted to meet with me yet? And does he know you hired a new doctor? As he smiles behind his glass, "His response is Yes, he knows I found new doctor. And he is away dealing with some Alpha pack stuff. He should be home tonight or tomorrow. I'm sure he will want to see you." It helped me feel a little better. Chris told him Amy's twin sister was here at pack house. I decided to head in for the night, maybe stop in the kitchen for snacks. Had Walk passed it to get to door that leads to hospital housing anyways. Once inside pack house I noticed the fresh mountain rain smell again. Huh weird, maybe it's going Rain. I choose to leave it be. Once in the kitchen, I used my light on my phone and played some music to help with the quietness of the kitchen. Dancing around, I found some chocolate ice cream. So excited, I spun around to see two blue eyes looking right at me. Whoever he was a really big guy, like 6'5 and built like a tank. All I hear Rain yelling" mate, mate, it's mate." O boy, not what I was looking for whatsoever. He watched me for a few minutes. I realized he had never come into light. All I saw was his shadow and blue eyes glowing. So, after putting the ice cream back into the freezer, I started walking over to him. He just turns and leaves, no talking, not even a name. Weird, most wolves are excited to know their mates. Of course, rain was taking his side for whatever reason. He wants us. He just needs time to process us. That makes sense on no level for me. So confused and ready to eat my ice cream, I wanted to go to bed. Off we went to our place with our ice cream.
