Dolton POV My instincts flare, and I’m on my feet in an instant, staring at the growing unease that settles over the room. Something’s wrong. Then I see it—a thick black fog begins to seep under the door, curling ominously toward us. “Move back!” I bark, stepping in front of Sebastian. “Dolton, no! Think of Celine,” he protests, shock flashing across his face. “You’re the king, Sebastian! You need to stay alive. Without you, Celine has no place here. She’ll be vulnerable. So step back!” My voice is firm, and he hesitates before reluctantly retreating. The fog grows thicker, it snakes into the room and grows. “This office has one way in and one way out,” Sebastian says quickly, his tone clipped with urgency. “No windows—it’s a security measure to prevent break-ins.” “No secret exit?”
