Cutler was stunned. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, he saw Brian run straight to Audrey's side. The boy called out in a clear, cheerful voice, "Mommy, so you two know each other? He's the guy I told you about yesterday."
When Audrey didn't answer, Brian shook her hand and asked again, "Mommy?"
Cutler felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck. He stood frozen in place, staring at Audrey and Brian in total disbelief.
