Chapter 24After leaving Fern's office and purchasing lunch to go, I returned to Diamond Hall. April arrived at the same time, and we devoured our sandwiches, a BLT and a chipotle chicken double-decker. When we started sharing lunch several months ago, neither of us could decide which we wanted, so we'd been splitting both. It had become our weekly routine. My newest motto was 'Couples who eat together, stay together.'
“So, Fern told me you released Cain earlier?”
“Yep. We have little proof he's responsible for the break-in at his own house. Our evidence in Giovanni's murder is circumstantial. Bitsy is his alibi for immediately before you found the body, and she's not budging about the amount of time they were together.”
“Speaking of Bitsy… have you gotten anything out of her and Sawyer?
