Chapter 13

2809 Words

Chapter 13When I reached Aunt Deirdre's, her husband had just taken the baby for a stroll around their property. They were living at the Paddington estate, one of the grand homes on Millionaire's Mile, a*****e-lined street connecting North and South campuses via Braxton's cable car system. Though they mostly resided in England, Timothy still ran the family company and had to spend a week each month in Wharton County to strategize with his executive leadership team and key business contacts. Aunt Deidre had bright blue eyes, was two inches shorter than me, and typically had a trim figure. Having a child late in life had made it difficult for her to return to her pre-baby weight, but she was determined to get there soon. We talked about her new baby, whom she'd named Michael after Grandpop.
