Chapter ten.

Tehya sighed as she laid in her bed as an unusual scent drifted in one that lingered of death and blood and smoke she wrinkled her nose in disgust in her sleep she was tooken to a dream of the distant past . Tehya races around the trees in wolf form with Arsen running close behind her she stopped and hid in a hole to see how he would react her ears layed down and listened .

Arsen looked around he could not see anything very well "tehya "he cried and squeaked he knew what would make her reappear .

Tehya frowned she didn't want him to feel like she left him she gave a sigh before coming out and hunkering low she looked at Arsen she suddenly felt an intense pain in her ribs before she blacked out.

She awoke with a start while she was shaking "why couldn't I remember that till now…"she said sighing "my room smells weird …"she whispered before getting up and getting dressed and walking out she walked down the stairs while she saw something on the news about a person being found with blood being drained from them *no new surprise *she thought .

Shania looked at Tehya " bad dream ?"she asked she gave a quiet sigh looking at Tehya face she arched an eyebrow slightly "Cathal left something for you.."she said worriedly seeing Tehya shaking and pale.

Tehya smiled seeing the envelope Cathal had left her she picked it up and grinned before smelling it "he always smells so good …"she said with a grin before she could almost hear Shania's annoyance about Cathal.

Shania cringed slightly at his name "barely even know him and your all hung up and attached " she said grumbling "anyways I smelt something strange around the house earlier "she said frowning.

Tehya sighed "yeah I smelt it in my sleep just figured it was coming from my dream though.."she whispered "look I got to go for a run later...and I would appreciate some alone time …not saying I don't like you but my wolf feels the need to run for a bit by herself "she said quietly .

Shania frowned slightly "while I don't like the idea of you being out there alone..I will keep my tongue on what I think "she grumbled looking at Tehya who gave her a please don't start look.

Tehya sighed "if I'm not back in an hour...then you can start worrying Though I probably got myself lost "she joked with a grin she saw Shania cross her arms and give her a not-funny glare.

Tehya sighed before walking out the house *that scent is still lingering around …*she thought worriedly before starting to Sprint off before going into the woods she looked around as she started smelling something of cherry blossoms and vanilla she looked around before feeling something leap and hug her *that scent is rather familiar *she thought before feeling the weight off of her she turned and looked before wagging her tail and pouncing playfully and running around the girl happily "Odessa "she said grinning .

Odessa long silky Raven black hair danced around as she moved to hug tehya on the ground "it took you long enough to come back"she teased grabbing her nose playfully her lavender colored eyes showed her soul and happiness .

Tehya smiled "yes I'm sorry I've had things preoccupying me "I've missed you I really have have you been feeding well ?"she asked noting the deep intense purple flecks in Odessa eyes .

Odessa grinned "yes I have although I don't murder people to eat you know ..there are other ways to feed you know "she smiled and laughed.

Tehya rolled her eyes before laughing "you may xbe right about that.."she said laughing she looked at Odessa whom seemed slightly worried about something .

Odessa sighed "can I just address the elephant in the room...there was a vampire stalking you .."she said nodding towards the woodline "I'd be careful i know him he's not a guy you would want around you …"she said shooting an evil glare towards the woods .

Tehya looked at her "how do you know him ?"she asked curiously looking at Odessa "what's his name ?"she asked giving a quick worried look over her shoulder .

Odessa looked towards the woods "that's Alex….and he's just very well known in the vampire community for when you want something done you call Alex "she said with a twisting frown .

Tehya nodded "if he's still back there got my back ?" Knowing she shouldn't have to even ask Odessa and her had been friends for a long time well they were more like family .

Odessa looked at Tehya "I had your back even when your a pup tehya "she said with a grin she gave a quick look towards the woodline as it started to snow slightly she gave a quick look towards tehya who raced away *mess with her and your going to have your throat ripped out and your body set on fire *she thought before racing towards him.

Alex snorted slightly "bring it Odessa "he said looking towards her "I have enough time to play a game or two …"he grumbled watching tehya run off *she won't get to far *he thought before he was slammed from the tree onto the ground"damn that girl hits hard when she's mad "he thought staring at the sky "I'll take that as a warning. "he grumbled before getting up and looking around trying to sense either one "very funny Odessa ...you can't protect her forever "he huffed before following after tehya direction he last saw her .

Odessa frowned slightly she knew he was right but she wasn't about to let him win either "he can go back and crawl into his casket for all I care "she mumbled.

Tehya frowned before racing towards the woodline her wolf was daring her to go towards the hotel maybe she could sense something or someone there who would protect them until Alex finally gave up she sighed before walking into the hotel ignoring everyone screams she gave a quiet sigh and stopped and looked around *why are we here ..*she wondered as she worked her way towards the top floor she gave a sigh before scratching at the door.

Alaric looked down at the smallish shewolf "hmm what are you doing at my door ?"he asked curiously tapping his chin "could it be alex is following you "he asked he looked at Tehya expression "I'm just playing…"he said before reaching down and petting her head "come on tehya .."he said before moving out of her way .

Tehya sighed smelling the steak in the bowl on the floor she looked up at him "did someone know I was coming ?'she asked curiously she knew of him but didn't know him her eyes looked towards him curiously.

Alaric grinned "little wolf I've been waiting to meet you for awhile now.."he said with a grin " your one of the ones who will help me take my foe brother down "he said with a grin reffering to Alex he gave a quiet sigh as he tussled with his hair slightly his eyes looked towards her as she devoured the steak "although I have to say ...me helping you will come with a price ."he said sighing rather dramatically as if trying to prove his point.

Tehya growled slightly "and what price is that …"she asked frowning slightly worried watching him she gave a quiet worried sigh she took a slight step back .

Alaric grinned "don't be alarmed tehya all I'm asking for is to be my friend I've been alone for a long time now ...I just want you to come visit me everyday and I'll walk you home and make sure Alex dosent get you but I am a scientist at heart ...and I would love to study your wolf habits "he said with a grin .

Tehya frowned slightly "no what you mean is give you more insight for when you rule over this town and figure out how to get us shifters out "she said frowning "either that or you've developed a taste for bitter blood "she growled .

Alaric frowned "bitter blood not all shifters blood is bitter it's only bitter is the wolf is bitter in my experience "he said frowning "and sometimes if that's all I can find and they aren't willing to let me have some ...I in turn do get crazy "he said frowning not liking the darker part of him .

Tehya frowned "you are completely insane ...but fine I think we have a deal.."she said frowning looking at Alaric "I probably will regret this in the future but Alex won't mess with me if your around…"she grumbled.
