Mr. Handsome

1180 Words
"Look what you've done, babe. My job and everything I've worked so hard for is all gone," Alex lamented. He sat on the bed in his room, his palms interwoven over his head. "Don't you dare blame me. Now you see who Vera really is. I was only trying to help you, baby." "Well, you sure did help me" Alex turned to Victoria Wilson, his girlfriend, who sat beside him, "lose everything! Vicky, the house is gone. I have until morning to get out. And my job is gone too." "So? She can have it, who cares," she adjusted closer to him. She wrapped her arms around him, her slender fingers massaged through his hair, "I'll get you a job, okay? Stop being sad." "And she is going to pay for everything that happened today. I promise I'll pay Vera double-fold," she said with a smirk. Alex rested his head on her chest, while she patted his hair gently. "Babe, I'll be right back. I need to call someone," Victoria said. She got up, and dialed a number on her phone, "Hello, Red," she said. Her thin peach lips curled into a smile. "For a moment, I had thought it was your ghost that called," the feminine voice on the other end said with a chuckle. Victoria laughed, "I need to see you. Remember Vera? Oh, trust me, you'll love what I want to tell you," she said with a smirk. "Normally, I wouldn't give two thoughts about that girl, but coming from you, I'm interested," the lady on the other end of the phone said. "See? I told you this trip was going to be good for you. Look at you smiling again," Daniella said to Vera. She indeed wore a smile, a very beautiful one. She stared at the landscape as the cruise ship sailed gently over the waters of the Grand River. Her elegant white dress fluttered gracefully in the cool breeze that blew. While the evening crept in, the guests danced to a soft melody, each with their partner, in the deck that was used as a lobby. "Vera, care for a dance?" Daniella asked. "No, I'm good. I'll just stick around with my champagne," Vera replied. She spun her wine glass half filled with champagne and stared soberly at its contents. "Is it just me or have you noticed that guy? The one with the gold jacket?" Daniella nudged Vera slightly with her elbow. "I... haven't noticed. What about him?" Vera pretended not to know what she was talking about. "Vera, I caught you staring." Vera laughed, "I wasn't. I mean, yes I've been staring at everyone at this party." "But you had that smile, Vera," Dianella teased. "What smile?" Vera frowned in pretense. "Oh, he's coming over," Daniella said as she placed her palms over her mouth. "Hello there, beautiful ladies," the man in a gold jacket said as he got to their table. "May I?" he gestured at an empty seat beside Vera. "You may," Vera replied with her usually cold voice which was neither too friendly nor harsh. She barely glanced at him. "Having a good time here?" He asked. "Yeah, it's been a lovely time here," Daniella said with a grin. "If you'll excuse me, I'd love to go get another drink and dance too." Vera threw a questioning look at Daniella when she stood up, but the latter had only grinned as she waltzed away. "Would you like to dance too?" "No, I'm good," she said. She finally looked at him, her eyes came alive with a streak of shock when she beheld his face, but she blinked several times to hide it. The man in the gold jacket was a good beauty to behold. He had the body of Hercules, the fineness and meekness of Hermes, yet his face was fierce with a chiseled jawline like that of Ares; his eyes, they were what made Vera marvel even more — hazel eyes, slender and lined up with thick black brows. "I must say, you look ravishingly beautiful, my lady. Your dress is magnificent, one that befits an angel," the man in a gold jacket said. Vera blushed, "Well, thank you. I made it myself," she said, and took another sip of her champagne, yet her eyes never left the stranger's face. "Oh, an angel with gifted hands, even more graceful. You seem like a talented one," he said. "Of course, I am, Mr. Handsome," Vera blurted out. She placed her palms over her mouth as she blushed. Mr. Handsome's eyes were all over her and the aura they gave off made the surrounding air even warmer. "Could you make a dress for me? Your Mr. handsome? he teased. "Of course not, men don't wear dresses," she mocked him, "I could make elegant wear for you, but why hide such a beautiful body behind layers of fabrics?" She didn't know when those words had escaped her lips, but she had said them. She wasn't feeling drunk at all, but she felt tipsy with the beauty god seated in front of her. The evening moved so fast, that she hadn't understood how the atmosphere changed from the noisy lobby on the second deck of the ship, full of people, to a quiet room with only her and Mr. Handsome. She could feel melodies playing in her head, sweet melodies, which, with every string of it, she felt even more warmth. Her body rested upon the stranger's body, their heartbeats became rhythm as they kissed and smooched. She wanted this 'god' so much, she couldn't resist it. He laid her slowly on the bed, she moaned in pleasure as his muscular fingers ran all over her body, from her bosom down to her bottom. The rest of the evening was a blur to Vera, as they basked, bare-bodied, under the night's light, in pleasure and s****l bliss. ********************************************** Vera jerked out of bed, she was awakened by the ring of her phone. She picked up the phone, but the ring had ceased. She turned the phone screen and almost screamed when she saw on the display, "Six missed calls". Three of the calls she had missed were from Daniella, the other from Trent, and the other from a number with no contact name. She slapped her forehead with her palm and bounced off the bed. In a minute or two, she was all dressed up in her white gown again. She looked around the room, it was quiet, no sign of her Mr. Handsome anywhere. "Where did he go?" She whispered. She was trying to remember what had happened, but it was all a blur. Daniella's call came in again, and she immediately accepted it. "Vera, where are you?" Daniella asked, worries evident in her voice. "On the ship..." Vera answered, going around the room, and picking up everything that belonged to her. "I've been looking for you everywhere. Where are you?" Daniella’s voice came again, this time sharp. "Meet me at the lobby, okay?" Vera said and dashed up the stairs.
