Chapter Five Dreams of Anguish … Tempest woke reluctantly to the feeling of someone jumping on her bed. It wasn’t her. She groaned, rolled, and whom-ever it was fell from her precarious perch onto the floor. There was a decisive “ouch!” and Tempest recognized Kitten. The small girl’s head peeked over the side of the bed. “What did you do that for?” Kitten complained, climbing up to lie beside her lover. “And what are you doing sleeping this late? You never sleep this late.” Tempest stretched, unwilling to release the delicious blanket of sleep that she had wrapped around her. As long as she could hold onto some vestiges of the night before, she could believe that it was still a part of her life.
