The night didn’t feel the same anymore.
Ever since the stranger showed up, something inside me refused to settle.
It wasn’t just curiosity… it was deeper. Like my soul recognized something my mind couldn’t explain.
I kept replaying his words in my head.
“You don’t even know what you’re part of yet.”
What did that even mean?
The next evening, I found myself back at the same place we met.
I told myself it was just coincidence… but deep down, I knew I was hoping to see him again.
And then—
“Miss me already?”
His voice.
Low. Calm. Dangerous.
I turned slowly, my heart betraying me with every beat.
“You don’t just appear in someone’s life, say creepy things, then disappear,” I said, trying to sound stronger than I felt.
He stepped closer this time. No distance. No mystery hiding in the shadows.
Just him.
“You’re not afraid of me,” he said, studying my face like he was reading a book.
“I should be,” I replied.
“But you’re not.”
Silence.
Heavy. Loud. Honest.
“Tell me the truth,” I whispered. “Who are you?”
He smiled… but it wasn’t soft.
It was the kind of smile that carried secrets.
“The real question is…”
he leaned closer, his voice brushing against my ear,
“Who are you becoming?”
A chill ran through my body.
Because for the first time…
I didn’t recognize myself either.
