Sam lit a cigarette, not giving a s**t about Arlo or the kid in the backseat. “What the hell?” asked Arlo. “What?” “That cigarette.” “What about it?” asked Sam. “Cigarette smoke is bad for kids.” “Cigarette smoke is bad for everyone. So what?” everyone“We got a little girl to think about,” said Arlo. “This is my car,” said Sam. “I"ll smoke if I damn well feel like it.” Arlo looked indignant. “The hell you say.” “What?” “This ain"t your car.” “I stole the fucker, so that makes it mine.” Arlo shook his head. “Your logic is...” “What?” “Illogical.” “Whatever,” said Sam, more than a little agitated. He went right on smoking his cigarette. “Could you at least roll the window down?” asked Arlo. Sam shrugged and begrudgingly rolled the window halfway down. “Happy?” asked Sam.
