ALAIA POV

On our way home, I turned to him and asked, “Do you have a girlfriend?” He suddenly laughed, a deep, rich sound that filled the car.

“Why do you laugh?” I asked, genuinely curious.

“This is the first time someone has asked me that,” he replied, still smiling. “To answer your question, no, I don't have one, but I have my eyes on someone.”
