Anthony’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists, his eyes burning with fury as he stared at her.
“What are you doing here? Who invited you?” Mr. Jeffery’s voice boomed, his face reddening with every word.
“I did,” Lola said. She didn't flinch as her father’s angry gaze snapped toward her. “She’s back in the country, so why shouldn't she be here?” Lola walked toward Elena and pulled her into a brief hug. “It’s good to see you again, sister-in-law.”
A sharp smirk played on Elena’s lips. “It’s good to be back.”
Anthony let out a harsh scoff. He felt like he was seconds away from losing his mind.
“Are you insane, Lola?” Mr. Jeffery’s chest heaved. “After everything she did, you still have the nerve to bring her back into this house?”
