Unforeseen Connections
The next day at school, Chris sat with his friends at lunch, lost in thought as he picked at his food. The cafeteria buzzed with laughter and chatter, but his mind was elsewhere, wrestling with the complexities of recent events. He spotted a new face across the room—a girl about his age, with long dark hair and an air of familiarity about her.
Moments later, Sofia entered the cafeteria, her smile bright and confident. “Hey everyone!” she called, ushering her daughter, Lucia, to follow her. “I have someone I’d like you all to meet!”
Chris watched nervously as Sofia approached their table. “Hi, everybody! This is my daughter, Lucia. She just enrolled here, and I thought it would be great for her to meet some new friends! Lucia, this is Chris.”
