Lena looked at Jason and then at David, her heart racing as she sought to diffuse the situation. “This isn’t how we handle things! We’re not kids anymore!”
David’s gaze softened momentarily as he looked at Lena, but his frustration remained raw. “What were you thinking, meeting him like this without telling me?” he shot back, desperately trying to steer the conversation away from violence.
