Chapter 10 Part 3: Vik

The King's Guard leader laughed.

"Do not think you can defeat us, The King's Guard, just because you won the battle of the bloo-"

Zeal appeared in front of her. She was shocked because she did not even see him move from where he was standing.

"You talk too much.."

Zeal gave her a powerful blow from below her face, which sent her flying.

Zeal exhaled with a hot breeze coming out of his mouth. He then disappeared.

The leader of the king's guard was in the air when Zeal appeared in front of her, yet again aiming to give her a powerful blow from above.

"Ughh... this guy.. I didn't even see him move.. he just appeared in front of me.. but my ally's bows are powerful and at this point he won't be able to evade." The Leader thought.

The other two ally of the king's guard leader, who had bows and arrows, was ready to shoot him down with powerful arrows made from pure dark magic.

"Heh.. what a show off." Chloe said.

The two were surprised. Chloe was behind them.

"Well then.. I guess I'll be your opponent." Chloe said.

Two King's guards with the sword jumped behind her. They were going to s***h her with their sharp blades.

"Don't get too cocky witch.." The two said.

"Now now.. don't sneak up behind me like that."

The two kings Guard was certain they got her, then they saw her smile.

Suddenly the two were pushed to the ground with a powerful force. They couldn't move and were having a hard time breathing.

"Looks like you're having a hard time there boys."Two King's guards with the bow quickly turned around in sync to aim for Chloe at point blank range. They released their arrows and shot her. The surrounding area was covered in smoke and dust from the explosion caused by the shot.

The Patrol leader Elf could not move. He couldn't keep up with what was happening and just stood from a distance. He saw the explosion from the King Guard's arrows.

"They're arrows are powerful.. made from pure dark magic.. getting hit by it directly, even from a long distance would result to death.. No one has ever escaped their arrows. Miss witchy was hit in point blank. There's no way she'll survive, even if she did I'm sure she wouldn't be able to move.. Miss witchy..""W-wait! I remain loyal to the Dark Elf King! She's my enemy! It's good that they got her!"

The four King's Guard stood from a distance.

"That should finish her."

"Next is that boy."

"He's kinda busy so I can't let you go to him."

They looked behind them and Chloe was there.

"Ah.. my dress is ruined.. This was such a nice dress." She said.

"It can't be.. you should have died.. you took a direct hit.." One of the King's Guard said.

"W-what are you.."

Chloe released a dark aura as she smiled. The four King's Guards were terrified. They were standing in front of her, but what they felt was different. They felt like they were standing in front of something dark they'd never encountered before.

"We're the king's guard.. we won't be intimidated by the likes of you witch!" They shouted.

They then attacked Chloe from all directions. Rain of arrows covered the light of the moon. Dark magic slashes from the their swords were coming from every side.

"There's no escaping now.." They said.

"Man you four are a pain.."

She raised her hand in the air. Her hand was glowing dark, as she closed her fist, and the attacks exploded before it could even get near her, and as she touched the ground she said something.

"How disappointing.."

Dark magic crawled into the ground. Shadows bind the Four Guards. They couldn't move and felt like their energy was slowly being drained the more they tried to resist.

"Wh-what is this sorcery.. dark magic used against dark creatures?! Who are you witch!" They shouted.

Chloe just smiled and said, "The one true grand witch.. is who I am."

A huge explosion suddenly appeared behind them. Something landed, and as they looked at the source of Impact, they saw their leader unconscious. Zeal then landed besides the King's Guard's leader.

"Took you long enough, How high did you sent her flying? I could've eaten dinner before you could finish." Chloe said.

"I thought we could atleast blow some steam. These Guard's are no different from normal dark creatures." Zeal answered.The Elf patrol was mesmerized at how strong the two were. The King's Guards were in the highest position in the Dark Elf military, and they were beaten in an instant.

They then ran towards Chloe and Zeal and bowed their heads.

"P-please teach us how to fight!" The patrol elves said.

"You stupid traitors! We're gonna slaughter you after we get out of here!" The binded Guard's said.

"Why are you asking us to teach you how to fight? We're your enemies." Zeal said.

"All our lives we were mocke and made fun of just because we were born weaker than the others. We banded together to be patrols of the Dark forest borders, to somehow be of use and show them that we are as brave as the kingdom's soldiers. After we got in we thought would gain respect from our people."

"Yeah, but they didn't.. they still mocked us because of our inability to fight.. they said our job is useless and was just given to us because no one wanted to do a shitty job like this."

"WE WANT TO BE BETTER MISTER! SO PLEASE TEACH US!""Not being able to fight does not mean you're useless. You're doing your duties as patrols and you're even guarding your territory's border. You even spotted us even though we were very careful and I think that's something to be proud of." Chloe said.

"M-miss witchy.."

The Elf Patrol Boss ran towards Chloe trying to hug her while crying.

"Not so fast Elf"

She then smacked him leaving another lump.

"Ughh.." The elf said as he was holding his head.

"Traitors"

"That's why you'll never be of use to this kingdom so why don't you just die"

Vines as thin as thread suddenly came from the ground and pierced the Boss Patrol Elf's squad.

"NO!!" he shouted.

Chloe quickly hit her with a powerful lighting which ended her life.

"F-friends.." The boss patrol Elf said as he kneel down staring at his comrades. They were all hit and was lying lifeless on the ground.

One of the Elf squad was still alive. The boss patrol Elf ran towards him and put him on his lap.

"B-boss.. we're sorry.. we're as useless as always.."

"This is all my fault.. It's my job to protect my squad at all cost and I failed.." He said as he starts to cry.

"I-im glad to.. have worked.. with you boss.. we're proud that you are our boss.." The elf said."Im glad you were ok.. live happily boss.. get out of here.. you still have a lot of good things ahead of you.."

Chloe ran to them.

"I have healing magic. Maybe we can still save him." Chloe said.

Chloe was trying to heal him, but then his hand stopped moving.

"It's too late.." Chloe said.

"You devils.. you would even harm your own just for your own good.."

Zeal said angrily.

"Did you even considered then as allies?!" He shouted.

"Hehehe Patrol Elves.. that's not even a real job you fool!!! They just sent you here to make fun of you!!" The king's guard said.

"You were so useless they created a fake job just and placed bets to see how long you would last out here!." The other Guard said.

The boss patrol elf sat in silence. He could not believe his friends had died, believing they were actually doing something for the kingdom.

"Ha! ha! I can't believe you actually you you were chosen for this jo-"

A raging flame engulfed the four guards before they could even finish talking.

They were screaming in pain.

It was Zeal who could not stand anymore disrespect towards the boss elf who had just lost his friends.

"They were more than just allies.. they were my friends.. we used to steal together because we were born at the slums of this kingdom and we needed to do it to survive.. they were with me along the way until some soldiers told us we can be useful as patrol Guards.. we were all excited because we thought we could finally do something honourable..""I remembered we celebrated that night.. hehe we even bragged about our new job to everyone.."

"My friends.. How could I let this happen.. I turned them down."

The Boss Elf was crying.

Chloe tapped his back.

"Until his last breath he told you he was proud of you.. you did not let them down.. I'm sure that every single one of them felt the same way as him." Chloe said.

She stood up and reached her hand to the Boss elf.

"Come with us." She said.

"What are you talking about? We're enemies." The boss elf said as he wiped his tears.

"Then let's be good enemies." Chloe said as she smiled.

"What do you think, Zeal?" She asked.

"I think when we're done here, you're gonna love the mansion Elf." Zeal said.

"Y-you guys.."

"We'll fulfill you friend's final request. We'll get you out of here then you try to live your best life in the mansion with us." Chloe said.

The boss elf cried so hard.

"My name's Chloe, and this here is Zeal. Glad to have you onboard! Uh.." Chloe said smiling.

"Vik.. My real name is Vik." The boss elf said.

"Well then Vik it's nice to meet you!" Chloe said.

"Let's have your friends an honourable burial Vik. Then let's head on to save Guillen." Zeal said.

"Thankyou." Vik said.

The three dugged burial graves for Vik's friends. Chloe made them lovely tombstones and they lit candles on each of the graves.

They stayed there for a few moments to let Vik say farewell to his fallen friends; then they continued their journey to Dark Elve's kingdom. Vik led the way because the forest changed its shape to prevent outsiders from getting near the castle.

"There's one more person you need to apprehend if you want to save your friend." Vik said.

"Who?" Zeal and Guillen asked.

"The king himself. If my guess is right they'll keep her in a special cell near the king's room. A cell where magic will not work and elite guards are keeping an eye on twenty four seven." Vik said.

"The Dark Elf King.." Chloe whispered.

"Is there a problem witch?" Zeal asked.

"Nothing.." Chloe answered seriously.

"You used to be a slave here right? Then you should know the King. He survived the war by putting up a barrier to hide our kingdom." Vik said.

"Oh I know him alright." Chloe said.

The Dark Elf King was the one who would torture Zoey back when she was still a slave. After she did labor in the town, the king spotted her and took her as his servant, since she was the only human slave there.

As the three were walking a black raven was watching from a branch of a tree.

It flew back to the castle and landed on the Dark Elf King's shoulder. It gave information on where the three were walking and how much longer they would travel before they could reach the kingdom and told him Chloe was there.

"So they're coming huh.. It's been a long time Chloe.."

The dark Elf King said as he smiled.
