Chapter Fourteen | Discovering His Past

1337 Words
“Lately I’ve been thinking. Do you think I’m the Devil because I’m inherently evil, or just because dear old’ dad decided I was?”  Lucifer said as I skimmed through the books in the library. Lately, I have been stacking books up for Lucifer to start reading, see if he gains any emotions. I just found out that this man has not cried in a century. Who does not cry? Even I do. But something I do know about Lucifer, was that he was hurt of his parents. By them. He was hurt that they let him go so easily because he started to gain the feelings he now lost. I know deep down; he is probably the kindest man. He is respectable, he is funny and witty on some days. But he never laughs, only forces it. He does not know how it feels to be happy and I am going to change that. Lucifer flops on the couch, I bring the stacks of books underneath my chin to the table next to him. "Demon, I really do not enjoy reading fake fantasies." I rolled my eyes, setting the books down. I take out titanic and throw it at him. "Someone is feisty today, was yesterday to much for you." "Be quiet and read." Lucifer takes the book from his lap and opens it to the first page; I knew I was going to be here long but we both had nothing to do. I did not mind, I picked up my favourite book and sat on the couch opposite him. It has been a few hours; I have not looked up to check up on Lucifer only to see him fast asleep with the book covering his face. "Lucifer!" He jumped up from the couch, the book being thrown into my direction. I immediately dodged it as it flew past me. "Well, someone is eager to wake me up. This is boring, is that not one feeling I have gained." I rubbed my hands on my face, I stand up to pick the book up as I did I notice a small bump in the carpet. I graze my hands over it, as I do it feels like a sort of lock. I stand backup, pretending I have not seen a thing as I hand Lucifer the book. "Come on, did you not cry whilst reading?" "They had a good s*x scene, shall we-you know recreate it?" He whispers with a small wink; I sigh grabbing my forehead as I look up to the sky. "Lucifer, I know you-" You know nothing about me." He interjects as he falls back onto the chair. "I know you are not evil." He chuckles with his eyes closed, his black long curls dangling on his forehead as his eyelashes graze his cheeks. “Trust me, I’ve been doing this a long time. I know I am evil.” I flop back onto the couch; this was harder than I thought. How can I do this? I need ideas to get him feeling. But what? Maybe if I bring up his parents. Anger is a feeling right? No, I should not do that, I have no right to! I stare at Lucifer playing with the book as if he has never read one. Then my mother’s face comes into my mind, she is going to murder me. I cannot go back. My mother put so much trust into me, that I broke it to fix a problem, or is that what I thought of it as. Lucifer being a problem. What is going on with me? I should never be regretting my decisions. "What is s*x?" I asked, Lucifer looked into my direction sighing because he knew he has to explain to me what it was. Why has my mother not taught me all these things? It seemed to be important. "s*x, s*x, s*x. How do you think your parents made you?" "They kissed each other?" "They f****d each other, the man’s d**k goes into the woman's v****a and they have at it, moan and a child is produced." He made a drastic sound effect from his mouth as his fingers intimated an explosion. I walked up to him; his eyes widen as I lean close to him. My eyes staring into his, his looking into my own. "I am not going to have s*x with you." "I do not want to have s*x with you," I said. "So then why is there such a close proximity between us. This is harassment." "I am not harassing you; I saw something twitch in your eyes when you said the words children. Do you want children one day Lucifer?" I asked, Lucifer chuckles weirdly before trying to push me back but I stayed where I was. He tried laughing it off, his hands press against my forehead as he pushes me back. "Children are hideous little creatures that run around crying all day, no thank you." He was lying, I knew he was because I can catch a liar in a minute. I smile, he looks at me as if I was crazy. He grabs himself a cookie from the plate on the desk. "You want children-" "No, I clearly said I do not-" "But you are scared-" With that, he spat the cookie from his mouth onto me. I stepped back in disgust as I glanced up at him. He bites the rest of the cookie in his hands. "There is nothing here to fear." "There is the truth." I whispered. Lucifer, wiped his hands against his clothing as he walks past me. "Today’s session has ended, goodbye." He said slamming the door behind him. I sighed knowing I might have taken it a tad bit far. As I walked out of the library making sure to close the door behind me, the moment I turn around. A beautiful brown-haired woman stared at me, she lifted a piece of my hair and sniffed me. "You smell like roses." "Thank you." "You have blue eyes. Lucifer had a crush on a girl with blue eyes," "Nice..." "My name is Maya." She took her hands out to shake, I smiled giving her my own as she shook it. "Artemis." Then she paused, she froze as my name left my mouth. Her head was shaking as she removes her hands from mine. She steps back slightly grabbing her forehead as she grabs my face. Investigating it. "Is everything alright?" "May I ask, what are you doing down in hell?" She whispered as we began walking down the hallway. "Personal reasons, I am just here on a mission." Her eyebrows raise. "A mission, no question further. I am hungry so, are we going to go invade the kitchen." "You honestly read my mind." As we managed to arrive in the kitchen, we took ourselves some more of cookies from Lucifer's stash. That entire time, Maya was staring right at me. As if she knew me from another world but could not figure it out. She was actually such an amazing girl, kind and caring the question was. What was she doing down here? "So, any siblings?"  I asked. "Yes, my older sister. I hate her so much." "How come?" I asked once more. "She is so bossy, annoying and in love with this guy who would never love her back." "Why would he not?" "He is in love with someone else I guess; he always has been." "She does not deserve to chase after a man then," "That Is what I have been telling her, but she is so intimate on getting him to love her." She bites down into the cookies; I could not help the laugh that left my mouth accidentally. "Have you ever been in love?" "Nope." I whispered. "Oh, then I was mistaken this entire time." She mumbles with the cookie in her mouth.
