Chapter Eight | A Deal With The Devil

1602 Words
He settled me down gently in front of the Gates which lead back to where I have come from, "as beautiful as you are, you cannot stay here." He says sarcastically, I shake my head. I came here to help; I went through a bunch of things to come and help him. So that in return he can heal my wings. He can make it white again. Because suddenly I'm known to be an Evangel.  My eyes travelled him; he was beautiful. He was everything I thought of him not to be. He was exactly what my teachers described. Lucifer was known to be the most beautiful angel. And now I understood. This man in front of me, was absolutely beautiful. From the top to the bottom.  "No, I cannot leave. I need your help as much as you need mine." He raises an eyebrow, looking around the area we were in. He chuckles effortlessly before turning to face me. His black hair lingering on his forehead so effortlessly. The way he laughed, it sounded so empty but it is as so he forced a bit of emotions into it.  "I do not need your help princess; I am completely fine. But do tell me, what could I help you with?" He spoke flirtatiously. I rub my arms feeling slight tingles down my stomach. He leans against the gates of hell as he analyses me. I breathe in slowly, should I tell him about my wings? Or would he send me straight back to the cell. Could I trust him enough to do that? I barely knew him but I do know that he is a good man.  "My wings, they are different colours." Lucifer raised an eyebrow.  "Does this mean you are going to strip and tell me? Because if so, hey I am not complaining." He puts his hands up surrendering, I scoff shaking my head once more.   "I searched up the colour of my wings, they tell me that I am a mate of a devil...and that devil could reject me and I could get my white colour back."  "Ahh, so you are the messenger of God. You work for the man himself. Now tell me princess, why would I help God to receive an angel? Why not kill her?" He slowly walks towards me, lifting himself of the gate as his hands slowly glide underneath my jaw. Titling it into an angle where he could see better, his brown eyes caress my blue ones. His hair tangles above me.  "Tell me, did God ever cry over his lost angel? I wonder." I gulped as his finger glided onto my jawline, his warmness was perfect for my coldness, his fiery glaze steamed into my inch's ones. His emotionless glance stared into my emotional one.  "I know who are Lucifer, you are a good man. Who did not deserve what he got? You deserved to be treated right. If anything, you and I are the same." He laughs, he actually laughed.  "You're just so tiny and cute, but one thing I know, me and you are not alike and will never be alike. Now, get your pretty little ass through the gates and do never come back. Unless you want death." He opens the gate, as if trying to escort me out as his hands pointed to the darkness. But I stayed still, I folded my arms over my chest and stood my ground.  I went through way too much to be escorted out by this man. "No, I am not leaving not until I come to do what I achieve." He groans loudly, his hands grabbing his forehead as it falls down his face. I could feel how annoying I probably was.   "Augh, let me ask you a question princess." I nod my head as he comes closer to me, leaving the Gates by itself. His hands stroke my blonde hair as he brings me closer towards him. "What is it you desire?" He whispers into my ears.   "Why would you care what I would desire? Listen, Lucifer I just want to help you. Allow me to do so." He looked utterly stunned, he steps back gazing at my face as if he has not done it a few times. He shook his head. "What is it you desire princess?" He repeated.  "Are you unable to hear? I already answered." He shakes his head profoundly, as if surprised by my answer.   "As much as I enjoy your annoying company. It is now time to say goodbye." He grabs my hands and pulls me towards the gate. His hands pushing me to hurry, I look back, the minute my foot nearly touch the entry to heaven I pushed myself back. Against his body. "Okay, the pushing back is not a good idea princess." He pulls me away from the Gate.  "Just let me help you, I can help you away from this evil." I protested; he rolls his eyes before answering.  "Princess, you cannot help me from this evil. I am the evil. Now, do you desire death?" He asked.  "No, I do not. I desire to help you." I whispered, why would he not allow me to help him. It was a simple thing to answer yes. Does he like to be called the-  "Father of lies, yes I do like to have my own name." My eyes widened in shock; I look down to see him holding my shoulders. I remove his hands, no surprise he could think what I was thinking. He gives me a small smirk, before someone calls out his name. He looks at me, within a second he shoves me behind him underneath his blazer.  "Lucifer, what happened?" I hear a familiar voice shout; I hold onto the back of his shirt. The smell of him, wow. He smelt like cinnamon and wood. Something unexpected from a devil. I thought they were going to be red, scaly and gruesome like they described in the book. Clearly not.  "What do you mean?"  "The brunette angel? Why did you take her?"  "Because Maximus, did you bring her to me? Did I give her a punishment?" His voice, his voice turned deeper, his voice was no more sarcastic when he was talking to me.   "No, Lucifer."  "Then do not go against my word, she has gone back to where she has come from. The situation is to be finished now. Leave." The footsteps immediately enter my hearing. In that moment, I remove myself from lucifers blazer as he glares at me. "You leave tomorrow, there is not buts. You can stay with me in the time being."  "Lucifer, if you just allow me to help-"  "Listen princes-" He stops his words as he glances down at my neck, his eyebrows furrow slightly. "That necklace, where did you get that necklace from?" He asked, my head bends down to the necklace tangled around my neck, my hands slowly lift it as my fingers begin fiddling with it.   "My grandmother, she gave it to me. She said it belonged to a close friend of her." Lucifer, his eyes. His eyes glistened as he looked down at the necklace. His finger removes my own as he grazes the stone. His face, his face shifted. It shifted with some emotions. Sadness.  "I see, is she still up there in-in heaven?"  "No, she passed away a few days ago or I do not know how long they have kept me here..." He nods his head.  "Like I said before, you leave tomorrow. You can get some food since you are very skinny."  "How about we compromise?"  "Like a deal?" He asked interested.  "If I make you back into who you were before, If I give you the help you needed and you began having some emotions. You will stop hell; you will banish it because you have the power to do so. No man should be able to have such punishment."  "And if I do not compose any sort of feelings?"  "Then I should-should finish of what they have started, you can remove my wings-"  "Or you become one of the fallen, to never be heard of, to never been remembered of, to never be seen of. You will rot, burn, you will die." One of the fallen, funny that one word can change an entire idea. Being a fallen was worse than having a simple death. It was much worse. It only happened in hell. It happened to an angel named Aelo. She was one of the fallen.  My mother would not remember me, my father if he still does would nor remember me. My own grandmother would not remember me once I join her. I would simply be forgotten. I would simply not exist. And only Lucifer had the power to do so. Was I willing to attend the risk of not being able to be remembered? Was I willing to risk it all because of a promise I made from my grandmother?  "Deal." I took my hands out, Lucifer smiled sinisterly as he takes out a knife from his side pocket. He slowly removes it before slicing his palm open. I hand him my palm as he does the same, then within a second, he shook my hands conjoining the deal.  “Do you know what you just did?” He whispered, his hands slowly grazing my soft skin. I take a deep breath as he pulls me closer to him. His eyes glancing at my lips before meeting my eyes. "You just made a deal with the devil."
