Chapter 3

1638 Words
{Adriannas POV} Ella and I walked towards the cafeteria in the admin building and by the way Ella spoke about Jace, I could tell she was totally gaga over him, I listened intently, hoping she doesn't ask too many questions about Kane and I. As my tummy began to protest in hunger, we finally got to the table so we could eat. WG had a pretty good cafeteria and the food was amazing, not surprising considering they had to cater for the supernatural beings that attended and shifters were known to have big appetites. West Grove was first and foremost a college that housed only the supernatural students, however, any degree here was well recognized in the human world because they held classes for both species that wanted to get established in the human world and those that preferred to keep it strictly in the supernatural world. West Grove had a very medieval look, with 2 huge castles adjacent to one another and an administration building in the front, the layout created a triangle courtyard in the center, with a fountain at the dead center of the triangle. The castles decor kept with medieval rustic theme with huge wooden framed windows and a suits of armor and weapons randomly placed throughout. They also incorporated huge paintings, of figures from history and some landscape paintings. At the back of the castles were cottages for the witches as they preferred to build sanctuaries closer to the forest and the lake that was to the West of the Castles. To the east, were the training grounds and outdoor sporting grounds. My favorite place was always the lake, that had a bridge that lead to a wild forest, where most werewolves would hunt from time to time. The school housed shifters and witches and some vampires. Although there were many magical beings, not many would allow interspecies interactions unless absolutely necessary. Fairies and Avarian species preferred their species stay in their own Kingdoms and only interacting for political reasons. The campus was protected by a magical barrier that allowed it to be invisible to humans for their protection and ours, that's how we were able to move around freely in our natural fforms. The students that attended West Grove were only allowed admission if they were part of a coven or pack that signed the peace treaty created by the council of Elders. This allowed for a relatively drama free environment at the school. Interspecies interaction at this school was so easy, if only the same existed outside the campus barrier. "Adi, where are you lost girl?" Ella asked while taking a bite of her steak "Ah nothing, so when are you telling your parents about Jace?" I asked "I'll call them up tomorrow, I can't wait to tell them, I honestly thought I wouldn't find my mate so soon but I couldn't be happier, I mean have you seen him?" she said with heart eyes. "I know, I honestly never gave the thought of having a mate much attention since I didn't even know if I'd get a wolf, but here I am, a week after my 18th birthday with Storm and Kane." oh s**t. I said too much. F**CCCCCCCCKKKKKKK. "What do you mean?" Ella asked, curiosity didn't kill this cat. "Agh Ella, there's a lot you don't know about me, but I'll tell you later I promise. The guys are back" I said, glad for the distraction. Kane kissed the top of my head and sat beside me and the sparks gave me goosebumps. "I see you girls are almost done, sorry, didn't mean to take so long" he said as he took my hand and placed it on his thigh while he took a bite of his food. "Thats okay, is everything alright?" I asked, I didn't see Martin come in with the guys and I couldn't help but think something was fishy. "Yeah problem solved Adi" said Damian with a mouth full of food. "So what were you ladies talking about?"Jace said looking at Ella like she's his next meal. "Oh just how gaga Ella is going over you" I say with a smirk. That alone landed me a bread roll to the face from Ella. "Hey! not cool" I said throwing the same one back. The guys just had a good laugh and continued eating. "So Ella, Jace says you and Adrianna are from the same pack, did you know each other before coming to school here?" Wyatt asked. "No actually, I haven't lived in the pack territory for a few years now" I said hoping I don't get asked the technicality of it. "our family is still linked to the pack, but my dads business needed a more hands on approach so we moved closer to the city." I said "Yeah and I've never left the pack territory other then for school and shopping so we never really met before" Ella said, I knew she was trying to help me out a bit as I never liked talking about these things in detail. "I was so excited when I got accepted into West Grove, even though I'm not quiet sure what to major in yet, Jace what's your major?" Ella asked "thank you Ella" I said via mindlink She couldn't respond because Jace was looking at her so she just winked in my direction. "I'm into combat and tracking, so I figured a business study major with history would give me more than enough time to explore, also it'll fit in perfectly fine with my duties as a beta" he said, and I could see how sincerely Ella listened, she really was gaga over this guy and I couldn't be more happy for her. "What about you guys?" I asked Wyatt and Damian "I'm into literature so definitely business and literature" Wyatt responded "I'm just here for econ. Not really into the the whole studies thing" said Damian, he sulked just by talking about it. "So all three of you are into econ? that's good, at least you can be study buddies" I said with a little chuckled as Damian sulked even more. "They have to be" said Kane "As future ranked members, they would be expected to help me out with the families businesses should I need it." he said turning back to his plate. "whats your major?" I asked, full of curiosity "civil engineering, and you dimples?" he asked, catching me of guard with the nickname "Really? Dimples?" I scoft. "You do have really cute dimples Adi" said Wyatt, barely hiding his laugh Rolling my eyes and barely containing my blush I replied "whatever, I really love history, but I'm also a Econ major." "Brilliant, welcome to the study buddies club dimps" said Damian laughing while he spoke. "Kane tell him stop" I say and pout "Its out of my hands sweetheart" he says with a smirk "Agh you started it!" I scolded him as I fold my arms and continue pouting. We went back and fort and I was fighting a losing battle with this gang. "Come here" Kane says to me and drags my chair closer to him "if you keep on pouting like that I might just gobble those lips of yours right now infront of everyone" he says while grazing my lower lip with his thumb and quickly giving me a peck on the lips. His words and sudden PDA caused a literal shiver through my body and goosebumps. Everyone at the table clearly heard what he said and tried so hard not to laugh but when they saw the shiver, the guys couldn't hide it much longer "Dude give dimps a break" Jace said "Keep your worries for your mate Jace and leave me to mine" Kane said with a smirk. {Martins POV} Those stupid mutts. I hated being at the stupid school and I hated being a part of those band of misfits, but my father had to insist because Adrianna Peck would be here. That stupid b*tch had to be mated to the mutt Kane, no matter how much I hated them, I was sure glad I could kill two birds with one stone. There's no way Kane knew Adriannas real identity and that could work perfectly for me. As I sat in the far corner of the cafeteria with a group of girls I didn't even know, I couldn't help but notice how happy they all seem. Laugh now, but I'll definitely see you all broken soon. "Marty babe, why aren't you eating?" asked the dumb blonde sitting next to me, what was her name again, Marcella? Mary? I had no idea, but I do remember she's one of my first lays since I got here and lucky for me I used her as an excuse not to join those dimwits. "Not hungry, see you around Mary" I said and walked out. "Its Maria arsehole!" she shouted. I couldn't care less, I could get her again if I wanted but I needed to update my father on the new development so I decided to call him. "Flynn speaking" he picked up "Dad its me, Martin" I said "What do you want?" rude much? "Er yeah, well Kane has a mate and you wouldn't believe who it is" I said, knowing I was about to blow his socks off. "Why would I care who's Kane Xiavers mate? Stop wasting my time" he said irritated. "Its Peck dad." I said "I'll call you back, this might put a spanner in the works for us." he said and cut the call. The f*ck is wrong with this man? He was so hell bent on destroying Pecks daughter and now he decides to be coy? I need to get Mary back here, I need a distraction.
