Chapter 4

{Adriannas POV}

It was Saturday morning and I finally had a chance to sit down and talk with Ella about me. Last night after dinner, Jace and Kane came up with us and we just hung out talking s**t most of the night and eventually left reluctantly. I was so tired that I just crashed immediately.

"Ella, can we talk?" I asked, I somehow felt nervous because I needed more time to get to know her but last night I asked Storm about Ellas aura and she said she was good. I would of liked more time still but with the guys being around and personal questions always coming up, I figured I needed someone to help divert attention now more than ever.

"Whats up girl?" she said turning towards me, she'd been reading a book so she booked marked it and was all ears.

"So last, when I said I wasn't sure if I was going to get a wolf, I figured I owed you an explanation" I said, and she just nodded "so the thing is, I'm a hybrid." I said watching her carefully, trying to gauge her reaction.

"What?" she asked, shocked was all I read of her expression "What kind of hybrid? Does the school know? Why haven't you told me sooner? How are you a hybrid with such a strong wolf?"

"Well see, my dads Avarian and my mums a wolf. Technically speaking because of my dad I'm kind of a princess and because of mum I have Alpha blood. Yes the school knows but only a select few from my understanding" I said and waited for a response.

"A f*cking princess?! No f*cking way!" she said and she jumps up and walks over to my bed and sits down. "So what? Your wolf genes are more dominant thats why your wolf is so strong?" she asks

"I'm more 50/50. My dad trained me since I was 5 to control the elements, I have full control over Earth, air, fire and water. The pack doctor ran tests on my blood when I was younger and couldn't determine which side was more dominant so I had to until I was 18 to know for sure. But Storm soon entered my life and so here I am." I said as I grabbed grabbed her hand "You have to promise not to tell a single soul about this Ella, my parents only sent me here because I promised not to reveal myself and to lay low. There's some s**t that went down with my dads family and we've been estrange since before I was even born. They won't tell me what though and I never pushed the matter." I said and raised my pinky up "Pinky promise this stays between us and never leaves this room?" I said.

"This is a ton of information girl, and I'm still confused about the hybrid part, but your secret is safe with me, I pinky promise" and we both intertwined our pinkies.

"Just so you know, I'm not ready to tell Kane yet, I will but just not yet. My parents would probably take me out of school if they found out I had a mate, especially one who's an alpha" I said, I couldn't help but feel a bit sad at the thought.

"Why? why wouldn't they be happy for you?" she asked confused.

"I don't know, just laying low doesn't fall part of the whole being mated to an alpha and from what I could tell yesterday, he's a pretty strong one at that" I signed

"Well, its your story to tell girl, and I'm here for you all the way." she said giving me a hug. Just then there's a knock on the door and we knew exactly who it was.

"come in" Ella squeaked, and as soon as Jace walked through the door she ran over and kissed him. "I missed you" she said and he finally put her down.

Kane walked straight over to me "Why didn't I get that welcome?" he actually pouted and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I immediately stood up on the bed and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. "Well this will do just fine" he said as he swung me off the and in a circle and then put me back down.

I couldn't help the giggles that escaped while he spun me around, it felt like I was on cloud nine being in his arms, and I did miss him alot. A part of me couldn't believe I just met him, but another part of me felt like I've know him my whole life.

"when do I get to meet Samson? its no fun when you get to have all the fun" said Storm

its not even been 24hrs, cool your beans

"ask mate to go for a run"

calm it Storm, you'll get your turn, trust me.

I couldnt help but laugh at Storms eagerness

"Whats so funny dimples" asked Jace

"Er Storms kinda eager to meet Samson" I said looking at Kane.

He leaned down and said "You'll have your time soon Storm, I promise" and kissed me again.

"Argh cut it out guys" said Ella, while fake gagging

Rolling his eyes at her bent down again and gave me a little peck "What do you two have planned for today?" he asked

"Nothing really." I said

"Well the guys and I were thinking we needed to get you know you girls better so they're waiting for us down to have breakfast and we thought we could chill out at the lake?" he asked, oh thank heavens he wanted to spend the day with me.

"Sounds great, let's get going, I'm starving" I said and Kane immediately intertwined out fingers and lead me out the door as we made our way towards the cafeteria.

{Kanes POV}

After the incident yesterday with Martin, I was glad Damian and Martin settled their differences. At least I didn't have to have that hanging on my head and I was free to get to know Adrianna more. She intrigued me and from our conversations I could always tell she was a bit vague about her family but I decided not to push her too much because I knew we had forever. I mind linked Jace suggesting we get to know the girls more and inviting them on our day at the lake, and he was all for it. The guys didn't mind either. After breakfast we got down to the lake and just chilled with a few beers and the guys decided to jump in. Surprisingly Adrianna never had beer before and hated it immediately spitting it out. Ella on the other hand loved it. As I walked out of the lake and made my way towards Adrianna I saw Martin finally made an appearance. He seemed calm enough and was just keeping his distance tossing back a few beers with a group of girls not far from Adrianna and Ella.

"Missed me?" I asked as I placed a kiss on Adriannas forehead and sat down next her

"You know it." she said as she me a peck back.

"Kane, whats your last name?" Ella asked

"Xiaver" I responded while reaching out for a cold one.

"Wow, like Xaiver Enterprise?" asked Adrianna

"Ah, so you've heard of us" I said

"Erm have you heard of Peck telecoms and logistics?" Ella said smugly

"Who hasn't?" I said, although why was she asking? Was she a Peck?

"Well then, Mr Xiaver, meet Ms Adrianna Peck, heiress to the Peck Industry." Ella said with a smirk. I turned to face my black haired beauty and I was most surprised at this.

"Sweetheart, you never told me you're a Peck, although I guess that's why you're a business major huh?" I said and I saw her frown

"You never said you're a Xaiver so we're even. Yeah my dad insisted on a business major" she said. Ah, that's why her dad looked so familiar when I saw the photo in the room. William Peck is her dad. I wonder if that's why she's always so coy about her family, with them being borderline billionaires, a lot of people she meets must only care about the money. I go through it all the time once people hear my name, they basically start the ass sucking. However, ever since I met her, she never came across as the snobbish goody two shoes billionaires daughter, she has been down to earth and humble, never flaunting her status.

"Dimples, how come you never opted for the private room selections at the admin buildings?" I asked, in truth I was utterly curious, all of the rich girls I knew that had wanted to be waited on hand and foot and could never manage living in a dorm

"Excuse me? Just because my dad has money doesn't mean I'm a snobbish rich kid that needs to flaunt her money around only to be pampered on. Im more than capable of taking care of myself and I don't need anyone else to do it for me" she said annoyed as f*ck at the question.

"I'm sorry honey I didn't mean it like that, but you know not all rich kids are snobbish" I say and I saw her rolling her eyes at me "the guys and have private rooms but at the dorms" I said, I saw she still looked annoyed at me so I grabbed and placed her on my lap

"Kane! You're still wet!" she said trying to get out of my grip

"Dont be angry sweetheart, I honestly just asked, I never meant anything by it, I swear" I said and I watched her visibly relax and she said "No I'm sorry, its just people always assume I'm some spoilt kid who doesn't know how to take care of herself, so those questions always rubbed me the wrong way. I know you never meant anything by it, I do." she said, and gave a kiss to seal the apology.

It was so weird that I couldn't get my hands off her, and whenever she was near all I wanted to do was kiss her, make love to her and make her mine forever. I always hated PDA, I hated seeing it and I hated being involved in it, but with Adrianna I need her close all the time, I needed her like I never needed anything in my life, and to think I only just met her. F*cking mate bond, but also thank the Goddess for giving me this little piece of heaven on my lap.

"Dude, for someone who hates PDA, you sure do a lot of it" says Wyatt as he came out of the lake and grabbed a beer.

I scoffed and turn back to my mate who was truly to wiggle her way out of my lap again, but I wouldn't let her, so I just nuzzled my head between her neck and shoulders, causing her shiver again.

"Kane Xaiver!" she squealed

"Ah man, why in hell did I tell you my last name" I said and finally released her, thankfully she stayed close to me, so I placed my head on her crossed legs and listened to Ella and Jace explaining to Wyatt and Damian who Adrianna is.

"Man I'm sure you're dirt poor compared to Adrianna now" said Damian

"Its my fathers money boys. Not mine.. Yet" she added with a smirk. I loved how she never boasted, it made her all that easier to love. Damn. I did not just say love?

It was so easy to be around Adrianna, and they guys got along with the girls incredibly well. I could see they already considered Adrianna and Ella like their sisters and thats when I knew they'd make the perfect addition to the family. However, the day couldn't just remain perfect. No, s**t always had to go down, and this time I was the main one

{Ellas POV}

The day at the lake was super fun, and having my mate by my side made it amazing. My mind kept drifting back to little miss princess here and she completely shocks me. I knew about he dad from the beginning and she pleasantly surprised when she wasn't a stuck up b*tch, but when I found out she's a princess I grew to be even more fond of her. We built a good relationship in the past week, but I could always tell whenever she was uncomfortable talking about things so I assumed we'd never be best friends because I couldn't trust someone who wasn't opened and honest even though I could see she was a good person. Now, the barriers were all take down and I completely got it. No one in their right mind would mess with a royal family no matter if they're from a different species, and my girl right here was one strong muffin. Hybrids are rare because mate bonds don't always involve two different species, those are very rare. From what I know, most wolves that are mated outside the species are mated with humans. I couldn't believe when she told me she was an Avarian, I've never met one before, their kind always stay in their kingdom and very seldom leave unless on Royal business. They are also very strong kind but the strongest are those of royal bloodline, while Avarians outside the royal bloodline can only control 2 elements at best, the royals could control all elements. They also had speed, strength and some odd abilities here and there.

"Kane what the hell are you doing?" screamed a girl with blonde hair, lean structure and green eyes. As she came up to us, she immediately grabbed a dumbfounded Kane by the wrist and jerked him off Adi. Ai this guy and his laid back responses will be the death of him.

"Answer me!" She screams bending down so she could look him in the face.

"Mar..Margaret? What the f*ck are you doing here?" he asked, still shocked up it seems. I look at Adi and she seems so innocent and confused, this better be his sister or something.

"I came in a week late as I had stuff to sort out before moving. It was supposed to be a surprised, but instead I'm the one surprised" she said seething with anger and jealously? okay, not his sister then.

"Again, what the f*ck are you doing? And who the hell is this mutt?" she screamed and pointed at Ella. Firstly I couldn't understand why everyone was silent at this b*tch who spoke with so much disrespect to their alpha, but the moment she disrespected my girl, I wasn't going to take it, especially with Adrianna sitting there still confused out of her mind, but I could slowly see her anger seeping through, and I didn't know if she could handle her powers yet since we never got to that part, I had to step in and put this dumb blonde back in her place.

I woke up and stood eye level with her "Watch your mouth b*tch, who the f*ck do you think you're calling a mutt" I asked angrily. As if waking up from his slumber, Mr Alpha gets up let's out growl making ms blonde here and everyone in his pack submit, but it didn't work on me or Adi.

"You will not speak to my mate that way ever again" he said, he even scared me at this point. "You will respect her as your future luna, do you understand me?"

"Future luna? You must be crazy she ca-"

"I said, DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" he cut her off and made her submit again.

"Y ye yes Alpha" she replied still looking down.

"Leave! and don't ever come infront of me!" he said, and she gave a hateful glare at Adrianna before storming up the bank and back towards the castle. She left everyone in a tense and awkward silence, Kane was still fuming so I went over to Adrianna.

"Girl, you good?" I asked, she still looked taken back by what just happened relatively calm.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for standing up for me like that" and she hugged me, damn she was so innocent.

"Anytime" I replied and she let go of me. Jace walked over to me and pulled me back "Baby come here for a sec, Kane needs to see to dimples and explain okay?" I nodded and just went back down towards the water with him.

{Kanes POV}

"Sweetheart" I say leaning back down to where Adrianna was sitting, "I'm sorry for what just happened, I never expected something like that, and the disrespect towards you was the last think I expected, I'm so sorry" I finished, and she finally looked up at me, I could see she was still confused, but thankfully nothing else.

"Who was she?" she asked

I sign and I look at her, how could I possible say this to her? "Margaret and I dated for a while a few years ago. Even though we broke up we were always civil with each other and hooked up a few times here and there. 5 months ago, when I gained my wolf, and I figured out we weren't mates, I cut all ties with her and I told her why. You see, she gained her wolf before me, and she said we were mates, and I believed her, because even though I didn't have my wolf, her wolf still felt the mate bond, or so she said. So for 2 months she and I dated but I wasn't really into it for any other reason then the s*x, I figured once I had my wolf, I'd worry about connecting with her more intimately, and because I grew up with her, I knew her quiet well already." I said, and I saw her face drop as I spoke.

"wow" was all she said, so I continued.

"So cut to 5 months ago, when Samson and I saw Margaret, there was no pull, no bond and I was so pissed of at her, the only thing I could do was cut all ties with her. Unfortunately, she became obsessed and followed me everywhere. Always acting like I was hers and scaring of anyone who came close to me." I said, and I just sat there letting it all sink in for Adrianna as I knew it would be a lot of information.

"I'm not fragile you know" she said, finally looking at me. I was so confused by her statement "Huh?" Was all that I could muster up.

"I'm not fragile" she said smiling this time "I saw the look you gave me before you told me the story, and I saw you getting worried by what you were saying, looking to see if what you said hurt me or if what she said made me feel any less of a being."

"Errr, Sweetheart where are you going with this?" I asked, still confused as f*ck.

"I'm trying to say, you have nothing to worry about me. Whatever just happened means nothing to me, and doesn't change how I feel about you or how much I want you, no matter how rude and insolent her behavior was, she can't call me something I know I'm not." she said while taking my hand in hers "As much as I would of loved to be your first everything, your past is behind you and I don't really care about stupid ex girlfriends because Kane, even though we just met, being with you makes me feel so safe and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else" she leaned and kissed me, with so much passion it made me feel weak in the knees. I underestimated her, I thought the Margaret situation would make her want to run for the hills or think differently, I thought it would hurt her feelings but I was wrong, her character was so strong and she believed in me so much. How did u get so lucky?

"You're one tough cookie dimps. Most girls run for hills after an encounter with Margaret, but she never got to give you the full treatment" said Wyatt as the guys and Ella came back.

"Really man? That's your joke? But you're right, she is stronger then I ever thought" I said and quickly kissed her. "Its almost lunch time, let's all go get changed and head out to the town for lunch? Ladies?" I asked

"Ooh yes please" said Ella "I'm coming with you while you shower and change" she said and they both walked off. The other guys took off shortly after packing up the cooler boxes and rolling up the towels. "My lady" I said while holding out my hand for Adrianna. She took it and we made out way to my room.
