Chapter 1: Love at first sight

1179 Words
Ben's POV Matt and I pulled into the student lot and parked. I notice the stares but ignore them. Then I noticed some students giving Matt dirty looks. That pissed me off. He must get teased or bullied. Definitely not gonna happen on my watch. This school is just like everywhere else. We walked closer to the schoolyard when I noticed her. A red head girl with long crazy curls wearing a fitted leather jacket, tight skinny jeans that showed off her perfect curves and black combat boots. Her back was turned so I couldn't see her face yet, but I was drawn to her. My heart is racing and had butterflies in my stomach. God that red hair with crazy curls was getting to me. What the f**k is happening to me?  "Hey Matt, whose the red head over there talking with those girls by the flag pole?" I asked every so casually.  "Oh yea, that's my friend Rebecca with her volleyball team. She's really nice. Want to meet her? She's the best person at this school. She always stuck up for me." Matt said smiling. Matt was such a sweet and innocent soul.  "I would definitely like to meet her. But Matt, do u still get bullied? That's not okay." I said sternly but softened my expression when I noticed Matt's eye widen. I have to watch my intensity with him. I can be scary sometimes.  "Oh, it's gotten better. Every once in a while someone says something but I ignore it or if Rebecca is around she puts an end to it. I'm really hoping this year is better." Matt said with hope.  Well buddy, your are my friend too, we'll make sure its better." I said confidently while patting his shoulder. Matt just smiled widely at me before calling out to Rebecca. "Hey Rebecca!" Matt spoke up excitedly. As she turned, my eyes just about fell out of my damn head. This girl was absolutely gorgeous. Her wild hair, her dancing hazel eyes, beautiful porcelain skin with no hint of makeup smiling back at us....she was perfect. Damn this girl is a fox! s**t I better compose myself and play it cool. I never felt like this before. "Hey Matt!" She chimed pulling him into a tug. f**k, even her voice was angelic. "How was your summer? she asked as I just stood there trying not to gawk at her with my hands shoved in my jean pockets.  "It was good, quiet." he answered. Her eyes wondered over to me standing next to Matt. I notice them widen for a split second, her smile slowly fading for some reason. "Whose this, Matt?" she asked hesitantly.  "This is Ben Wilder, He's my new neighbor and friend. Ben, this is my friend Rebecca Sampson." Matt beamed happily. That caused Rebecca to smile brightly in return causing me to display my classic smile.  "Nice to meet you, Ben. Welcome! She said holding her pretty little hand out to shake mine. "You too, Rebecca." I said as I took her hand. As soon as we touched I felt electricity. Damn she had to have felt that too.  ... Rebecca's POV Holy s**t! This guy in front of me is handsome and has a million dollar smile to boot with that sexy and sharp jawline. Its like his baby blue eyes can see right into my soul. My heart won't settle down. Hell, I never felt this way before. As soon as his strong hand wrapped around mine, I felt a zap go through my body. He had to have felt that...holy shit..calm down woman! I screamed in my own f*****g head. Matt's voice broke the my thoughts thankfully. "Well guys, the bell is about to ring. Ben I'll show you the office." Matt offered.  "Okay, sounds good. See you later, Rebecca." Ben smirked. "See you." I replied...that handsome devil just smirked at me. God he's beautiful.  ... Ben's POV I never believed in love at first sight but now...I do. I will definitely find her later and get to know her more. I have too. The office lady gave me my schedule and locker number pointing me in the right direction. I found my first period class; walking in I saw Rebecca sitting at a desk by the window. She was looking at her phone when I noticed a hint of sadness in her beautiful eyes. I sat next her but before I could say anything she spoke up without even looking at me. "You better treat Matt right or I'll kick your ass, Wilder." She said sternly as she set her phone down and looked me straight in the eye. I raised both my hands in surrender. "I believe you, Beautiful. I have no ill intentions. He's my friend and I intend on keeping it that way." I replied innocently giving her my best smile.  "Good, I'll hold you to it, handsome." She smirked. Oh this girl is good. We're gonna have fun...us two.  "What's your schedule like?" she asked. I read out my schedule to her. We actually had quite a few classes together, even the same lunch slot. "That's a pretty good schedule, most of the teachers are cool, but watch out for Mrs. Simon, she's strict and Mr. Brown is a dick." she said. "Thanks, mind if I stick with you today? I asked sweetly. f*****g hell, this girl is bringing out a sweet side of me I rarely seen or used before. But she makes me want too.  "Sure, though you may get sick of me and your gaining quite the fan club." She nodded over to the other side of the classroom. I turned my head and saw some girls gawking at me. I turned and looked back at Rebecca. "I don't care about them. My sights are only on you sweetheart." I said cockily with my classic smile making her laugh. "You're a cocky one, aren't ya?" she teased. "Maybe just a little." I admitted. "You're cute, Wilder. Think I may just let ya hang around." She giggled.  "How about I take you out to dinner? Name the time and place." I smiled back at her. "You just dive right in, don't ya?" She teased. "Only when it comes to a particular pretty red head." I responded honestly. "Huh, good to know." She said thoughtfully. There's a cute little cafe a few miles from here, meet there at 7pm?" She asked. "Sounds good. I can pick you though, it is a date." I winked at her. "I'll let you know for sure." She smiled at me. God I could stare at her all damn day.  "What's your phone number, Rebecca?" I asked. She gave it to me right before the teacher came in. As he setup his desk I quickly send her a text.  Unknown: You are the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. Can't wait to get to know you. Ben I saw her smile as she read that from the corner of my. I've fallen hard and I've only known her for an hour. Life is crazy. Becs: You're sweet, Ben. Me too.  We glanced over at each other and shared a quick smile before the teacher noticed.
