Kalicka had changed in some very drastic ways since that day in the forest. It had been only a few days, but the change in the girl was remarkable. Starling still hadn’t gotten too much out of her, but she hoped the girl might open up to her more soon.
Jacobi had no idea why Starling let the girl join them, he thought she was crazy. Maybe she was, time would tell. Stretching she moved away from the wall she had been leaning on and approached the ship’s captain that she needed to speak with.
The look on the man’s face at her approach was comical but she hid her smile. She had to do all of the negotiating with people on this trip, Jacobi wouldn’t she knew. There was one man who really hated humans.
