It was dark. And warm. I moved, feeling the heavy blankets restricting my movement. The lights went on, and two faces were looking at me from above, as I blinked, blinded by the light. "Amy?" Marty said, while Aunt Cloris helped me sit up and held a glass of water. I took a sip, thirstily gulping down the entire glass. "What happened to—" I said, but was interrupted. "Callida is fine. Your uncle made sure she is being guarded. You shouldn't worry about her." Marty said quickly, before I could finish my question. I was glad. I didn't want her to die. I didn't want anybody to die. "So —" "The Healers are helping her," Marty said. "She's stable. She doesn't need your help. You're barely able to help yourself." He grabbed my arm and raised it. Since when were my veins so visible? "
