8 We had Fundamentals of Practical Magic on Tuesdays. I had been severely lagging in the first semester (like in every other subject, basically), but I caught up enough to squeeze a passing grade. By now, I had figured out how to release controlled amounts of energy well enough to keep two magic crystal lamps on for a half-hour. I was about to grab one of the crystals we used in the first semester, but they weren't there. I guess we were done with that part. Good. Sitting there for three hours, keeping a simple lamp on, was boring. Especially since in my case I barely kept one on for thirty-minute stretches of time, while some of my classmates kept several for hour-long chunks. Like Marty and his friends.
