AVA
I lay on my bed as I began to reminisce over the decisions I have taken over the past two weeks. It's been two weeks since I made the decision at the court. I made it known that I was going to stay with my pack. If anyone should know anything about me more, then my pack was the safest place for me to be at the moment. I could feel the uneasiness in Xavier's eyes when I said but I had to make the decision. Ever since then, I've been in doors and I haven't spoken to Logan. I was beginning to get attracted to him likewise Xavier. I couldn't tell if it was my wolf that was getting drawn to them or was it just me. I had requested for my phone but was given strict orders not to use my phone, since it would be possible for the rouges to track me here. I really needed it to speak with Caleb, he must have felt betrayed that I secretly left after he confessed to him.
I was beginning to get bored and needed to step out but if Logan should hear of my sneaking out, he wouldn't take it lightly with me.
“Logan’s probably not in the kingdom.” Micha said.
Surprisingly, I've gotten closer to my wolf. Most times I do wake up in the middle of the night screaming and she would stir up within me and try to calm me down. But she had told me that she can't teach me everything, she is just a wolf part of me and she doesn't know all of it.
“And why would you say that?” I asked, wondering why she would say that Logan wasn't around.
“Just a haunch.” I rolled my eyes and stood up, I walked to my closet and picked up an outfit. I wasn't ready to die of boredom.
I made my way down to the hallway, hiding from any of his servants. As I passed the kitchen, the scent of freshly baked bread hit my nostrils, I peeped in and scanned the kitchen, there was no sign of anyone. I quietly tiptoed in, grabbing a piece of bread, I took a bite from it and it felt really nice. I closed my eyes as it's savoury flavour and fluffyness hit me.
“Yummy right?” My body stiffened as I heard the sarcastic voice. I gently tilted my head to the direction. “Ruby?” I called. She stood at the doorway, hands on her waist as she stared up at me.
“Glad to see you alive.”
“What are you doing here?” I asked walking over to her.
“I work here.” She said gesturing to the apron she wore. “A girl's gotta earn.” I nodded my head.
“Hungry?” she stretched a plate of chocolate cookies to me.
I giggled lightly as I collected them from here. The taste was out of this world, the chocolatey flavour and the crispness was divine.
“Baked them myself.” She smiled looking at me.
“It’s really nice.” I complimented as I took the last bite. “Want more?” she stretched another one to me and I gladly accepted it.
“Who’s in my kitchen!” A raspy voice rang as it approached the kitchen.
Ruby grabbed my hand as we made a run, we ran through the kitchen backdoor and into the garden.
We both lay on the grass as we laughed so hard, I clutched unto my tummy as we fell.
“Why did you run out?” I said sitting up, “I thought you work here?”
“I work here of course but I never said I could give out free cookies.” she said grinning.
I inhaled the sweet scent of the flowers.
“You can talk to me you know?” I opened my eyes and met her staring at me keenly.
“Why would you say that?”
“It’s clearly written on your face.” I smiled at her cleverness.
“You know, I had a friend who behaves just like you do.” I stared at her, “Happy, mischievous and caring.”
“What happened?”
“Well I was dragged here without my consent and I never got to see him so.” I huffed out.
Silence fell over us for some few minutes before she finally spoke up.
“Do you wanna see something?” she said standing up, stretching her hands to me.
“What?” I asked taking her hands. “You’ll see.” She grinned widely.
We arrived at a huge field which left me speechless. On the open huge field, were hot shirtless men, ranging from teens down to young adult men.
They all had something they were doing, some were practicing archery, some were learning some sought of fighting techniques, while others were lifting weights or running round the field.
“Woah.” I mouthed.
“Like what you see?” She nudged me with her shoulder and I felt my cheeks heat up.
“Stop it already.” I whined.
“Someone is staring to much.” She whistled, staring behind me. I turned to where she was looking at and just for a brief moment, I felt my legs lift up from the ground. A few meters away from where we stood, Logan stood, staring directly at me. I turned my face immediately but I could still feel his gaze on me.
LOGAN
I watched her as she talked with a girl, I tilted my head to see the girl who she was speaking with but I couldn't get a clearer view of her.
I wanted to walk over to where Ava stood and wrap my hands around her, I wanted to kiss those succulent lips of hers.
Jealousy washed over me as she walked towards one of the trainers. I could see her smile widely at him, something that I have yearned for her to give to me.
I shut my ear and strained my ears inorder to hear their discussion.
“You really want to learn Archery?” the trainer asked.
“Well, I do read a lot of books on werewolves, so I know that you have to know at least one skill and I've been a lover of archery but never got the chance to learn so maybe this might help.” her sweet silvery voice sang.
“What about the Alpha?”
“And what about him?” the girl with her asked. I clenched my fist tightly, “He doesn't have to know, does he?”
“Alpha?” James called making me to shift my attention from her.
“We’ve got the package.” He whispered and I smirked, turning back to Ava.
I watched her giggle with her new friend and the trainer, I smirked at them. “Just you wait a little longer for me Ava, and you'll be all mine.”
