AVA “Pretend like you're one of them.” Ruby whispered, holding me close to herself. We were walking through the market and Ruby kept pricing things that she wasn't going to buy. We halted in front of a little building. It seemed like some sort of a beauty salon. “Come on.” she waved at me, signaling to come in. I gently strode into the building, clutching tightly to Ruby. Indeed it was a beauty salon. People strolled in and out of the place all with a satisfied smile on their face. “Ruby!” A woman exclaimed, opening out her arms towards Ruby. Ruby fell into her embrace, leaving me to ponder what exactly we were doing here. I was left alone as Ruby and the lady got into a discussion, I decided to give my self a tour as the little building surprisingly wasn't little. I walked into another section of the building and was left dazzled at the sight of what I saw. Ladies all cladded in bikinis and thongs walked around freely like it was some sort of daily routine. “Like what you see?” Ruby teased popping out behind me. I glared at her and she laughed out clutching her stomach. “What is this place?” “It’s something you can call a motel or guesthouse.” She smiled. “What’s funny?” I asked crossing my hand. “You kinda look... Lost.” I snarled at her angrily. “Sorry.” She said raising her hands up in defense. “I have more to show you.” she gestured for me to follow her as she moved forward. XAVIER I stopped at the motel. Her scent had led me here, I furrowed my brow and ponderd on what could have brought her in her. I was about to take the first step when a strong hand grabbed my shoulder. “Don’t.” I tilted my head towards the voice. “It won't be nice seeing the Alpha step into a motel, will it?” He said, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Ethan.” I groaned and he gave a light bow. Ethan was my Beta and the best warrior the pack has ever had. He was a friend turned best friend, a brother that I never had. If we were in a war, Ethan was ready to lay down his life for me. He has been next to me after my family found him after the pack war stranded alone. And since then, he has been my closest friend. I gave one last look at the building before walking off with Ethan trailing behind. AVA It was beginning to get dark but Ruby wasn't yet ready to leave. She was at a corner, flirting with some guy she had met earlier. I groaned in frustration as I stood up from where I sat. “Sorry.” I apologised to the guy as I dragged her away. She yanked my hand away angrily. “What was that for?” She snapped “It’s getting late, we need to go back home. This isn't our territory.” I warned. “We can sleep over.” She shrugged her shoulder. “I’m not staying over.” “Ava, it's gonna be fun, we can hit the club while we're at it.” She grinned, her eyes glittering in amazement. “You can stay back, I'm going home.” I said, walking out on her. I could here her call my name but I didn't give her a chance. I took to my heels, I ran like as though I was running away from a burning fire. A fire that was going to burn me to death if the people realise that a member of the Dark moon pack was in their territory. I shuddered from the thought of it. ___________ I stood in the middle of the woods, unknown of the next turn to go. I was lost, I couldn't find my way home. The thought of being captured by any rouge made me scared, I was alone in a place I knew nothing about. I crept behind a huge tree as I waited and prayed patiently for morning to come. I was about to fall asleep when the rustling of the bushes woke me up. I swallowed a huge lump on throat, my stomach tightened as goosebumps appeared on my skin. The noise was getting closer, I hid carefully as not to be seen as whatever it was stepped out into the light. “Ruby?” I called, surprised and shocked as well. “Thank goodness I found you.” She rushed towards me and swept me off my feet, engulfing me into a tight hug. “I thought I had lost you. I'm sorry for letting you go all by yourself.” She apologised as hot tears trickled down her face. I wiped it off with my finger and cuppled her face. “I was a little bit angry but not anymore.” She smiled at me and hugged me again. “Can we go, I'm getting scared of being here.” I reminded her. She held unto me tightly as we ran back to the pack before curfew time. LOGAN “Where is she?” I asked in a hoarse voice. I had returned from the pack meeting earlier and had gone to see Ava but I was told she went off with a friend. I asked my men to search for her and bring her to me, only for them to return with no trace of her. It's been hours and she wasn't yet back and I was beginning to loose my cool. I shut my eyes and tried to reach her through the mind but she wasn't answering. I slammed my fist on the wall, thus creating a hole. “Find my mate and bring her here.” I growled at them as my fangs came out and my eyes glowed under the moon. I stormed out angrily. I had let Ava roam around freely, and she has decided to misuse it. I had grown too soft, to soft that she had to go against my rules. I needed to teach her just a tiny lesson. “You would regret ever making me look for you this much Ava Reed.”
