Finding a harlequin

1150 Words
AVA I found myself smiling at him, as he stood by the window. His muscular body outlined perfectly beneath the black shirt, a quick peek at his abs from the undone button. Man was really a hot breakfast. A light knock on the door made me snap out. Ruby walked in silently, carrying with her a tray of cookies and fries. Her smile dropped when she saw Logan, I held my laugh, the look on her face would probably kill a million soldiers. “Alpha.” She greeted dropping the stuffs on the nightstand. Logan's piercing gaze stared upon her as she dropped it before scurrying away. She stared back at me, her eyes seem to have unspoken words as her lips moved, I stared keenly at them, I smiled at her, nodding my head before she finally ran out of the room. I picked a cookie from the tray, taking a bite from it. I closed my eyes as it sweetness lingerd in my mouth, it's crunchiness sending a tingling feeling down my throat. My eyes quickly opened as he stood up close to me, I placed my hand on my throat and felt it, he had kissed me. A smirk tugged at his lips as he stared at me, inching closer. He brought my hand close to his lips and took a bite out of the cookie, his eyes still staring at me. My mouth hung open as I gulped down, he leaned closer, sliding his tongue into mine, he claimed my lips, savoring and tasting it. He bit my lower lip as I winced lowly earning him more entrance into my mouth. He leaned closer, his hands dropping on my waist as he caressed it. I whimpered under his touch, I shouldn't feel this way but he was irresistible. He slid a finger into my mouth, making me to open it widely, he stuck his tongue into it, sucking and nibbling on my tongue. And just as I was about to lean closer, he broke the case, staring into my eyes, a smirk on his face. “Al...” He placed his finger on my lips, shushing me up, shaking his head. “I only came to see you, nothing else.” His deep voice rang as he stood up, placing a kiss on my forehead before walking out of the room, leaving me stunned. I fell on the bed, throwing my legs up in annoyance. Why would he leave me craving for him, why was he so dominating. I groaned, standing up from the bed and into the bathroom. __________ Standing Infront of the stable, I waited patiently for Ruby. I wasn't allowed to go in, reasons best known to them. Soonest, Ruby walked out, a wild grin on her face as she walked up to me. “Hey.” I cooed, waving my hand. “You seem happy.” She asked, smiling. I smiled back at her as we began walking. “Hey Ruby?” I called, her face turning to my direction, earning a humming response from her. “Can I ask you something?” “Yeah, sure.” She answered, picking up tiny stones on the floor. “Do you know about a harlequin wolf?” She tilted her head with a smile. “Yeah, what about them?” Her soft voice rang. “Who are they?” She stopped on her track, turning fully to me. “They are a breed of double coloured wolf, they were seen as outcasts within the packs. They were mostly seen as weak and frail, always drawing the pack backwards. But we lost a huge number of them during the pack wars, they were unable to fight for their lives while others escaped but were never unheard about until this day. People say they have gone extinct.” She explained, staring into space. “What if they still exist, but are hiding themselves?” I asked, my voice laced with curiosity. She let out a slight chuckle. “It’s not hard to spot a harlequin. Just as they have double skin colour, it's also in their eyes and a patch similar to their fur colour on their human skin. So you can always spot a harlequin anywhere.” I hummed, nodding at what she had said, lost in thought. How was I to find a harlequin, if Ruby a citizen of Dark moon pack has proven that there isn't any within the pack, how would I find it. Or was it in Blackwood pack. “Why asking? Are you searching for one.” She teased, staring at me. “No, just read about them.” I lied, smiling back at her. I couldn't hold onto the lie for a very long time, I knew that someday, I was going to really tell her everything. Only time shall tell, but for now, let's focus on the present. (Blackwood pack, Selene's room) SELENE'S POV I just need to find a little evidence to prove to Xavier that Ethan was of no good. I knew I've always hated Ethan for no reason but this time around, I just have a little haunch about him. “My lady.” Emelia, my most trusted servant greeted. “Go on.” I snapped my fingers at her. “There’s no sign of a Harlequin, we've searched the whole pack but couldn't find any. The rumours might be true.” She reported. “But Lucas said they still existed. One is still alive.” I slammed my fist on the table. “You could ask him for more information, the prophecy must have said something.” She said, sitting next to me. I had met Emelia five years ago while we were at war with another pack. I was about to be struck but she shielded me with her wolf strength, protecting me. She wasn't a pack warrior as at the time but after she had saved my life, I began to train her, I found her rather interesting and helpful. She was the only person to look me in the eye unbothered. I made her my personal guard despite the able wolves we had. She knows everything about me even before I speak of it. “And how about Ethan, any word?” “Not yet my lady, but he seems to be visiting the woods that boarders our territory and that of the Dark moon pack.” I stood up immediately, a smirk appearing on my face. I know he had something up his sleeves. It was about time I rolled those sleeves up. I turned to her, a smile on my face. “Follow his every move and report to me immediately if you find him sneaking off again .” She nodded, bowing her head before she walked out. The clock is ticking Ethan, your time is almost up.
