AVA
It's been two days staying at the Blackwood pack, Lucas helped me to adjust back to my normal self. We were standing at the boundary, it was about time I returned back to the Dark moon pack.
“This is how far we can go.” Selene pointed out, surprisingly she has been a constant visitor, always checking up on me.
“Thanks, I really appreciate your help.” I smiled at both she and Lucas before I began my journey back.
“Ava.” Lucas called, making me to turn around. “Be safe.” I nodded and scurried off into the woods.
_________
I walked into the city gate, slowly not to be noticed. I walked past some group of warriors chanting, their voices loud enough to summon the queen goddess.
“Ava!” A tiny squirky voice yelled. I smiled out, as we both engaged into a tight hug.
“Where the hell did you disappear to, one minute you're here and the next, you're not.” She whinned. I smiled faintly, still embraced into the hug.
“You’re choking me, Ruby.” I informed her, she let out a giggling sound, leading me back to Logan's place.
I breathed out before entering his place, my body tensed, hands trembling. Ruby tightened her grip on my hand, giving me a reassuring smile.
“Ava.” I heard his deep voice say as we entered. “So nice to finally have you back.” He said emerging from the room behind, his men standing next to him.
“You look so pale huh.” I held my chin, staring at my face. “Give her a warm bath and the best foods we have. My queen is finally back.” His loud voice rang through the hall, his laugh loud yet fake.
I fell to the floor immediately, kneeling before him. My voice trembling as I spoke. “I know I have failed you. I have ignored your rules, please punish me as you wish.” I begged, my hands stretched forth towards him.
He crouched down to my height, his eyes dark and intimidating.
“I would never do such to you, wherever you have been I do not care anymore, the real fact is that you're back home and alive.” He placed his hand on my head, leaning closer he placed a light kiss on my forehead, then another on my nose and cheeks, tracing it down to my lips. He nibbled on the lower lip, I gave him access as he kissed deeply. My chest kept throbbing so hard. He smiled in between the kiss, breaking it and whispered softly into my ear.
“I really want you.” My body shuddered on his touch, his words hitting at different spots.
“Take her to her room.” He asked Ruby who helped me up. I staggered on my feet as we walked upstairs but Ruby held me up tightly.
___________
I laid on the bed, it was already nighttime, I was all done having my bath and stuff. Ruby had stayed with me throughout the day, talking non stop.
I kept on rolling on the bed, uncomfortable. My body itched from concern, Lucas words still lingerd in my head. The new prophecy, and yet another wolf. I was gradually understanding my reason of being here but why me. If only my father hadn't decided to offer sacrifices to the moon goddess, I would have been a happy teenager and not this.
Now some stupid prophecy being revealed about me saving a goddamn pack. Why would they go into war in the first place. I breathed out heavily. I really need to go see mom, we have a lot to talk about, I've really missed my mom though.
I stood up walking towards the window, the crescent moon placed properly on the sky as it's light shun down on the earth. I inhaled the fresh air, it's chilling feeling stuck to my body.
Soon enough, the wind became heavy, the guards on patrol running to their various unit. Tiny rain droplets began to drop, I stretched my arm out, feeling the tiny drops. It's really going to be a long night.
CALEB
I found myself back into Mr Logan's huge house, I didn't want to come back to the very place where I knew my head was wanted but seeing Ava return earlier, my heart did a thousand flips. I could have reached out to her but it would draw unnecessary attention towards me. So I waited patiently, I saw the room she had entered with the white haired girl. I sat in my hideout, patiently waiting for nightfall.
It was finally night, I crept out of the darkness, my eyes scanning the area. I tiptoed quietly, following the staircase they had followed. I was finally going to have Ava back and together, we'll find our way back to California, away from these monsters.
As I silently walked down the hallway, an opened door caught my attention. This was the middle of the night, so why would a room be open at this hour. My curiosity got the best of me, my legs found it's way to the room. I heard voices, they were talking in hushed tone. I could have just let it go but Ava's name made me to come closer. Slowly, I opened the door, small enough for me to see their faces. There stood Mr Logan as tall as always with a dominating aura, and two other men. I placed my ear properly to hear what they were on about.
“You’ve got to take them down when they least expected it.” A voice belonging to one of the men spoke.
“You really think it is easy to go to war unannounced, we do not just go into war without a plan, what if I loose my entire army.” Logan's deep voice rang. The man who had spoken earlier stood up, his face clearly showing. He had a slight mark that cut across from his left eye down to his cheeks. The aura surrounding him smelt evil, just a glance at him and you would know he was of no good.
“Logan, I would never lie to you for no reason. If you want the half wolf to yourself, you must be ready to attack. The blackwood pack would never expect it.”
Something he had said, made my heart twitch. A half wolf, that was Ava. I had to get to Ava now before it's too late.
Quietly, I turned back and was about to leave when I mistakenly hit my head on the wall.
“Fuck.” I winced quietly.
“Who’s there?” Logan's voice snapped. I didn't wait, I scampered away, into the direction of Ava's room. My breathing heavy as I ran. I finally stopped Infront of the room, a smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I gently twisted the doorknob.
“One more move again, and your head will be rolling on the floor.” A deep hoarse voice spoke as something sharp was placed on my head.
This wasn't the end, I can't just give up easily. Never, I had never backed away from anything, this would not be the first.
I pushed open the door but I felt something heavy hit me and slowly my body fell to the floor, eyes blurry as it closed from the darkness.
